Ice Cube Talks Final ‘Friday’ Movie Jason Derulo chat with James Corden

Ice Cube and Jason Derulo chat with James Corden

Everyone has a mom and sometimes you have to explain things to her, like what your single called “Swalla” is about, or why you have a song called “F–k Tha Police.” How do you do that? Viewers found out on Tuesday night (May 16) when Jason Derulo and Ice Cube sat down with The Late Late Show host James Corden to talk about their famous songs and their favorite movie. HustleTV

Describing the new explicit version of “Swalla” he’s just released, Derulo said he wanted to slow the track down so you could really get the, um, feel for the lyrics. “What’s the inspiration behind the song? I’m scared to ask if I’m honest,” Corden probed innocently. “It’s up for interpretation,” Derulo said. “Is it?,” Corden replied, noting that a lot of Jason’s music is about sex and wondering how his mom feels about that.

“‘Talk Dirty’ she thought was going to end my career,” DeRulo admitted. “‘It’s just too dirty, baby, this is not you,'” his mother told him about the 2014 smash. “I’m like, ‘ma, it is me!’ And then ‘Talk Dirty’ did what it did and ‘Swalla’ came on the scene and she was like, ‘I love this!'” Cube agreed, saying moms don’t want you to do anything “until the money comes in.”

Watch Cube describe how his mom reacted to N.W.A’s famous anti-establishment anthem: DJ Hustle

Derulo was just thrilled to be anywhere near the N.W.A legend because, as it turns out, he’s a massive Friday fan. “Friday was one of my favorite movies of all time,” Derulo told Cube about his legendary 1995 stoner comedy. “Literally I would watch it every single Friday, it was that serious.” Cube then dropped some news about the cult classic, revealing that he’s finally working on the fourth, and last chapter in the series. HustleTV

“We’re working on one right now,” Cube said. “We’re gonna call it Last Friday.” Cube — who had to break the news to Corden that there’s probably not a role for him in the sequel — was, however, willing to indulge the host’s desire to learn more about the art of hand-checking in basketball while hyping his Big 3 basketball league. Watch the action get physical. HustleTV

Entertainment

As any successful executive in entertainment will tell you, “when you have the streets connected and endorsing your product, your chances for success increase immeasurably”. That is exactly what is happening with the “new man on the streets” simply known as “DJ Hustle .”

Born and raised in Watts, California … DJ Hustle  and his new “HustleTV ” have quietly become one of the hottest platforms for entertainers and sports figures to get their real, uncut interviews aired to the youthful viewers and to Hip Hop audiences worldwide.

Starting off as a DJ performing at major venues across the country, DJ Hustle  decided to branch out and formed “HustleTV ” in 2008 with the show being aired via the Time Warner Cable system.

Within a one year time period, “HustleTV ” had caught on with the Hip Hop audience nationwide, while DJ Hustle’s rapport with the various Rap music stars and sports figures enabled him to secure the “street level, uncut interviews” the artist themselves preferred and that the viewers so desperately wanted to see.

As DJ Hustle’s grind in the streets took his platform to new heights, the success of Hustle TV motivated him to reach even further and he started to lay the foundation for building a “street edged” one hour cable TV show for Hustle TV that would focus on “controversial street figures and business people”.

Dear White People Is Even Better Than The Movie Say’s Netflix’s

By | Featured, Interviews, Movie Trailers, News | No Comments

“Dear White People”

Lushy Lush Interviews the cast of Dear White People. “Dear White Individuals” was met with basic recognition when it hit theaters in 2014. Executive and author Justin Simien’s parody, which took after a gathering of dark understudies at a dominatingly white Ivy Class college, dismisses the idea that we live in a post-racial society.HustleTV

After three years, the possibility of a post-racial society isn’t one that should be refuted. We’ve gotten the message — through the unending agitate of online networking, our 24-hour news cycle and the endeavors of activists approaching an era to wake up (or in more present speech, “stay woke”).

Enter “Dear White Individuals,” the 10-scene Netflix arrangement, which starts spilling Friday and lifts its source material into a profoundly piercing investigation of where we are presently. Like its ancestor, which initially touched base as an idea trailer in 2012, the arrangement is an opportune and clever sendup. Simien adjusted it for TV and is the author executive behind a few scenes. In any case, he taps a few different executives — including “Moonlight’s” Barry Jenkins — to rudder portions, all of which highlight characters unpretentiously breaking the fourth divider, for the most part with pointed gazes.

The show’s tagline, “Wagered you contemplate you,” is a concise gesture to any individual who (still!) thinks the provocative title is supremacist. (In case you’re in that camp, it’s protected to state this isn’t the show for you.)

“Dear White Individuals” comes back to anecdotal Winchester College, where a blackface-themed party facilitated by the white editors of the grounds funniness magazine, Pastiche, has sent long-stewing racial strains higher than ever. Sam (Logan Sautéing), a film real who has the prominent yet disputable “Dear White Individuals” radio show takes to the wireless transmissions to address her kindred understudies. HustleTV

Marque Richardson plays Reggie in “Dear White Individuals.” (Adam Rose/Netflix)

“Dear white individuals,” she says, hatefully. “Here’s a rundown of satisfactory Halloween ensembles: a privateer, scandalous medical attendant, any of our initial 43 presidents. Top of the rundown of inadmissible ensembles? Me.”

The gathering was the tipping point in the film, however in the arrangement, it’s just the start. The motion picture (which isn’t an essential for review the show) was told to a great extent from Sam’s point of view. However, the arrangement keenly extends its concentration to take after the result of the gathering — and the occasions that prompted it — through the eyes of five other Winchester understudies, with Giancarlo Esposito ringing in discontinuously as our contemptuous storyteller.HustleTV

Simien’s all around paced adjustment adds profundity to his characters and the ways their stories cross. There’s Lionel (DeRon Horton), a timid, geeky sophomore who not really furtively pines for the affections of his straight, playboy flat mate Troy (Brandon Ringer, repeating his part from the film). Troy battles to experience the desires of his requesting father, a Winchester senior member, who doesn’t concur with Sam’s approach of getting out the white benefit of her cohorts. “Her talk makes this grounds resemble a powderkeg of racial turmoil — like a state school,” he says. Coco (Antoinette Robertson), a determined, trying attorney likewise can’t help contradicting Sam’s candid conveyance. Their disparities — and the backstory behind them — are preferable clarified in the arrangement over the film and offer a counterpoint to Sam’s faith in battling the framework. HustleTV

Dear White People HustleTV Netflix

Dear White People HustleTV Netflix

Sam turns into the focal point of talk when an Instagram post uncovers that she’s been connecting with Gabe (John Patrick Amedori), a white graduate understudy. Her BFF Joelle (Ashley Blaine Featherson) is clashed about the interracial relationship in spite of the way that Sam is half white.

Featherson, a Washington local who had a minor part in the film rendition, is a scene-stealer. At the point when Sam reminds Joelle that she’s biracial, Joelle shoots back: “Better believe it, yet you’re not Rashida Jones biracial, you’re Tracee Ellis Ross biracial. Individuals consider you dark!” HustleTV

Sam’s mystery relationship likewise causes issues with Reggie (Marque Richardson), who shares her propensity for activism and really likes her since their first year. Richardson played Reggie in the film, however he gets more screen time here and the show is better for it. At a certain point, Reggie gets into a battle with one of his white companions who coolly drops the n-word while chiming in to a melody at a gathering. The encounter heightens rapidly and Reggie faces an unnerving circumstance that goes a long ways past microaggressions and social apportionment.

The scene represents one of the show’s heavier minutes. In any case, “Dear White Individuals” is so very much punctuated with silliness that, for watchers, a revolting cry can undoubtedly transform into a gut chuckle. One repeating joke spins around “Maligning,” a not at all subtle “Embarrassment” parody that dark Winchester understudies assemble to watch on a week by week premise.

Simien’s film corresponded with various crusades by dark understudies at transcendently white colleges. Through gatherings, for example, I, As well, Am Harvard and Being Dark at Georgetown, dark understudies shared stories of different schoolmates blaming them for being inadequate for affirmation or being made a request to show ID while strolling to class. HustleTV

As any fruitful official in stimulation will let you know, “when you have the roads associated and underwriting your item, your odds for achievement increment tremendously”. That is precisely what is occurring with the “new man in the city” just known as “DJ Hustle .”

Brought up in Los Angeles, California … DJ Hustle  and his new “Hustle television” have discreetly turned out to be one of the most sultry stages for performers and games figures to get their genuine, uncut meetings publicized to the young watchers and to Hip Bounce groups of onlookers around the world.

Denzel Washington Proves He Doesn’t Need To Be An Action Star To Be A Movie Star

By | Featured, Interviews, News | No Comments

Denzel Washington

Lushy Lush Interviews Denzel Washington on the red carpet for his new movie release Fences.

Denzel Washington is a film star. That much is clear. The man has had a strikingly predictable keep running of $20 million+ opening ends of the week going back to 2001, regularly with movies where he was the essential draw concerning star control and with movies sans any brand intrigue. Yes, he has made changes galore, yet the center interest of a Denzel Washington film remains the way that it is a Denzel Washington motion picture.  HustleTV

denzel-washington-fences www.HustleTV.tv DJ Hustle

denzel-washington-fences www.HustleTV.tv DJ Hustle

What makes Wall, which simply crossed $50 million local on the eve of its two stars (Washington and Viola Davis) winning at the Screen On-screen characters Society Grants the previous evening (he for Best Performing artist, she for Best Supporting On-screen character), uncommon is that it’s not an activity motion picture or a thriller. It’s an old-school show, any semblance of which the performer doesn’t make as quite a bit of any longer in a kind driven world. That is more about the business than about him, yet the relative accomplishment of Wall is still uplifting news for the individuals who need a greater amount of its kind.

Like Tom Voyage before him, Denzel Washington was a star in a time when you didn’t really need to star in a bundle of out and out activity spectaculars to draw a group (and a time where a $10-$15 million presentation was fine, and $100m local was an unfit crush). To be reasonable, the greater part of Washington’s hits were in the activity/thriller vein, for example, The Pelican Brief ($100m local in 1993) and Dark red Tide ($91m local in 1995), however regardless he made motion pictures like Philadelphia ($93m in 1993), Malcolm X ($48m in 1992) and The Tropical storm ($50m in 1999).  HustleTV

However, in the event that we contend that his present keep running of huge hits started in 1999 with The Bone Authority, we should likewise take note of that said period matched with what is currently a more than 17-year extend where the majority of the motion pictures Washington made were thrillers or activity motion pictures. It’s not comprehensive, as Walt Disney’s Recollect the Titans earned $115 million in 2000 and remains his third-greatest household worker (and his second-greatest behind The Pelican Brief when balanced for swelling). Be that as it may, the post-Preparing Day filmography matches with a period where Denzel Washington featured in a huge number of activity thrillers.

Without excessively disentangling the man’s filmography, he by and large featured in thrillers like Man Ablaze, This feels familiar, The Book of Eli, Safe House and The Equalizer while his few directorial endeavors (Antone Fisher, The Incomparable Debaters) were through and through character thinks about/shows that attempted to break $30 million residential. We can verbal confrontation to what degree American Hoodlum ($130m household from a $43m make a big appearance end of the week in 2007, a turning point in both classes) and Flight ($94m in 2012) were thrillers (the Robert Zemeckis carrier calamity film is a 2.5-hour dramatization about habit), yet they were sold as thrillers or activity benevolent offerings.  HustleTV

DJ Hustle Stars In A Buffalo Wild Wings Commercial Hustle Takes You Behind The Sense

By | Interviews, News | No Comments

Buffalo Wild Wings Dj Hustle

HustleTV Buffalo Wild Wings Dj Hustle: Watch as DJ Hustle takes you behind the scenes of his new Buffalo Wild Wings tv commercial. Hustle has been in many tv spots but this commercial will have laughing out loud.

It all started in 1982 with one restaurant in Columbus, OH. Since then we’ve grown to have a store in every state in the U.S. and continue to open B-Dubs® around the world (you’re welcome, Earth).

But really, all you need to know “About Us” is these three things: Wings. BeerSports.™ Why do those three things matter to us so much? Because that’s what our fans want, and that’s what we’re all about—making our fans happy.

No matter how many locations we’ve opened, where our corporate headquarters are or how many years we’ve been around one thing remains the same: Buffalo Wild Wings® is the ultimate place to get together with your friends, watch sports, drink beer and eat wings.

Still reading? Wow, you must be bored. How about some trivia: baseball hats used to be made out of straw. The oldest recipe ever discovered was for beer. Buffalo wings were invented by samurai. We made one of those up.

There you have it. If you love wings, beer and sports like we do, then this is the place for you. If you don’t like any of those things… we still might have something you’d likeHustleTV

Pioneer DJ Introducing New Toraiz Drum Machine At Namm Show

By | Interviews, News | No Comments

HustleTV Namm Show News  Whether you’re a DJ looking to add more electronic music production elements to your set or a producer who’s always wanted a standalone sampling workstation that’s as powerful as software, you’re going to love the Pioneer Pro DJ Toraiz SP-16. The Toraiz SP-16 is the result of a joint effort by Pioneer and Dave Smith, and it combines a powerful sample playback engine with intuitive hands-on sequencing and iconic Prophet-6 analog filters and signal processing. It’s a sampler that plays like a synth. Loaded with 2GB of top-quality Loopmasters sounds in its 8GB memory, you’ll be ready to lay down original grooves from the minute you plug in your Toraiz SP-16.

The Pioneer DJ TORAIZ-SP-16 is a compact unit housed in a standard black Pioneer DJ chassis. On the surface, you’ll find 16 velocity-sensitive rubber performance pads, a 7-inch full-color touch screen, a 16-step sequencer, Dave Smith analogue filters (the same as on the Prophet-6 synth) and a touch strip. There’s a USB input for loading samples into the TORAIZ-SP-16 located in the upper right-hand corner. Overall, the layout is slick and modern looking. HustleTV

On the rear of the TORAIZ-SP-16, there are eight 1/4” outputs, two 1/4” inputs and a level adjustment, a USB port, MIDI In and Out/Thru ports and an AC connector. The various connectors become useful when examining the connectivity options that the TORAIZ-SP-16 presents to DJs and producers.

Connections

Pioneer DJ TORAIZ-SP-16 connectivity

Kehlani on Life After Controversy With Partynextdoor & Kyrie Irving: ‘There’s Not Too Much That Can Hurt Me Now’

By | Interviews, News | No Comments

HustleTV Music News…. Despite deleting her various social media accounts several times and bouncing back from a reported suicide attempt, R&B singer Kehlani is focusing on the blessings. During a recent interview with Power 106‘s The Cruz Show in Los Angeles (Oct. 5), the Oakland singer spoke on the drama that surrounded her relationships with fellow singer Partynextdoor and NBA star Kyrie Irving.

“I think it was a combination of things,” she explained. “I think, one, the response was insane. Two, I think people forgot I was a 21-year-old going through the biggest heartbreak of my life.”

“It was tough — it’s still tough,” she continued. “On the flip side, there’s not too much that can hurt me now.”

As for her highly anticipated debut, Kehlani — who recently landed her first Hot 100 hit with the Suicide Squad cut “Gangsta” —  says she’s finessing the final touches. “I’m definitely in the last part of it. I’m in the final run, I’m doing all the tweaking and bringing in people to give me opinions,” she said.

When asked about the 2016 election, the Grammy-nominated artist didn’t choose either Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump but emphasized the importance of voting. “I think everybody needs to stay updated on it,” she said. “I don’t necessarily approve of either [candidate]. I feel like they go get drinks afterwards, ’cause they both on the same agenda. But at this point, guys, we can’t let it be Donald Trump.” HustleTV

Lavelle is known as “the voice of the ‘ambiguous people’. He’s a passionate Hip Hop Artist,

By | Featured, Interviews, News, Video | No Comments

HustleTV Entertainment News Lavelle is #8 on the Franchise Record Pool with his second single “Like That”.

His first single “MamaSay” reach up to #4 on the College Radio Chart. Lavelle comes with clever flowing lyrics over a light and airy track that completes the sound with a vibrant band.

He began his musical journey as a Producer, thanks to his cousin introducing him to FL Studio. Then went to the prestigious Full Sail University and graduated with a B.A. and M.A. in Recording Arts and Entertainment Business. His geeky Hip Hop MC style is a breath of fresh air.

Lavelle is a passionately prolific Writer, Producer, and Recording & Mixing Engineer (among other things) who currently resides in the city of Los Angeles. Originally from Rialto, California, he began his musical journey as a Producer thanks to his cousin’s introduction of FL Studio. Upon graduating high school, he then went on to study Recording Arts and Entertainment Business at Full Sail University and received his B.A. and M.A. respectively. Within that time, Lavelle fell in love with engineering and thought it would be his primary love. But soon, he discovered his undeniable knack for both writing and rapping. His melodic muses of both past and present times, include Outkast, Missy Elliot, Ludacris, Busta Rhymes to, Chance The Rapper, and Childish Gambino. HustleTV

As an individual with zero limitations, ambiguity and eccentricity are a big part of who Lavelle is and he puts that into everything that he does—especially in a creative sense.

Known to many as “the voice of the ‘ambiguous’ people,” he and his lyrics strike chords within anyone who has been drifting in the haziness of transitional stages amidst a cookie-cutter society. Through his one-of-a-kind (but at the same time, universal) tunes and ambiguous nature, Lavelle aims to bridge the gaps between people via the cohesive nature of music.

Amongst his specialties are EDM, Pop/Hip Hop, and Rap. In fact, he combines two different genres as a solo Pop Music Rapper. Lavelle is honored that some of his songs have been featured in the widely-viewed documentary on Allen Iverson and that he’s been writing and producing for in-house talent, Belle Aire and Keem. When Lavelle isn’t thinking about or creating music (which isn’t exactly possible), he absolutely loves dancing, film, television, and exotic food. HustleTV

Needless to say, Lavelle’s quest has only just started and he has countless goals along the way to keep propelling him towards stardom. But it’s not just recognition and connection that he seeks, Lavelle desires, with every fiber of his being, to make an impact; to inspire others to try new things fearlessly. Life is meant to be celebrated and he aims to convey this through music—but he figures, why stop there? The potential and opportunities out there are as infinite as the universe itself.

DJ Mustard & YG Celebrate Reunion, Present New Labels at ‘Allies Dinner’ in L.A.

By | Featured, Interviews, News | No Comments

HustleTV Music News…. YG and  DJ Mustard are toasting to a new chapter in their personal and professional friendship. Following their recent reconciliation after settling a royalties dispute earlier this year, the hip-hop tag-team held a private candlelit “Allies Dinner” party in Los Angeles’ House of Macau on Thursday night (Sept. 15) where they were joined by friends including Nick Cannon, rapper Kamaiayah and singer Sevyn Streeter .

“We started with each other before all the industry s–t,”.  “We’ve been through a lot of f—ed up s–t the past year and a half so we finally got our s–t right and we back like how we was from day one.”

But the event, which featured on-the-spot GIF creators by Giphy and specialty D’ussé cocktails, was also a way for the longtime friends to commemorate a new phase in their careers. “This ‘Allies Dinner’ was about me and YG coming together and bringing our labels together,” Mustard added.

In between plates of kung pao chicken and pan fried salmon, Mustard and YG presented their label rosters. Representing Mustard’s 10 Summers imprint was British songstress Ella Mae. “[She’s a] great artist,” Mustard said. “Super talented. Super hungry. Super everything. She’s a superstar.” HustleTV

Meanwhile, Santa Barbara, California’s Sad Boy and Compton’s Slim 400 repped YG’s 4Hunnid Records at the function. Speaking of Sad Boy, YG said Snoop Dogg once advised him to sign a Hispanic artist given his influence with Latino audiences. Two years later, he found Sad Boy, a Mexican-American MC. “We f–k with Sad Boy heavy,” YG said. “He really represents for his people, his culture.”

YG and Mustard also announced that L.A.’s RJ is their joint signee. Mustard called him a “superstar” while 4Hunnid Records President Brandon Moore said, “RJ has been able to build his OMMIO brand in the streets.” Moore also said that he’s been “a real factor in L.A.” Fans looking for more from the 400 signees won’t have to go too far. Both RJ and Sad Boy will join Kamaiyah as acts on YG’s F–k Donald Trump Tour, which kicks off Sept. 18 in San Diego. HustleTV

For Moore, these signings signify a fruitful future for YG and Mustard. “For them to take it to the next level to open up the doors and create platforms for new artists is incredible,” he said. “This is just the beginning of a 20, 30-year run.”

While making moves in the boardroom, Mustard and YG haven’t forgotten about the studio. The pair recently worked on three bangers for Mustard’s upcoming effort Cold Summer that the producer is excited to share. HustleTV

“”Been a Long Time” is one of the first songs we did in us getting back cool,” Mustard said of his collaborations with YG. “‘Want Her’ is just the typical YG that people haven’t heard in a long time. Ratchet meets YG again. He’s been political for a long time so this is his ratchet s–t. The other one is ‘Party’ and it’s party music with him and Young Thug. It’s all great songs.”

As if that wasn’t enough, the pair is also currently working on a joint project titled 400 Summers, a nod to their two label names. “I don’t know when it’s coming out, but we in the studio and it’s a blessing,” said YG. “We be having fun. This shit ain’t work to us. It’s like a dream.” YG also said that fans can expect music that “turnt up.” “Everything is slappin’,” he added.

As the evening came to a close following a custom cake unveiling, Mustard reflected on the lesson learned from his reconciliation with YG. “Don’t let this music industry or any industry come between friendship,” he said. “Just stay focused on your goals. We did and now we’re here.” HustleTV

D.R.A.M.’s & Lil Yachty’s ‘Broccoli’ Hits No. 1 on Hot Rap Songs Chart

By | Featured, Interviews, News | No Comments

HustleTV Music News…. The Hot Rap Songs chart welcomes a new No. 1 as D.R.A.M’s “Broccoli,” featuring Lil Yachty, rises 2-1 (on the Sept. 24-dated list). The climb marks each act’s first chart-topping hit. The rise knocks Drake’s “Too Good,” featuring Rihanna, from a three-week crowning reign (to No. 2).

“Broccoli” is D.R.A.M.s second career charting song. One year ago, the Virginia native’s debut single “Cha Cha” No. 14 on Hot R&B Songs (Sept. 12, 2015 chart).  HustleTV

“Broccoli’s” trip to the summit is supported in part by a 30 percent climb in streams (to 16.8 million) in the week ending Sept. 8 (according to Nielsen Music), its highest weekly stream count yet. That rise also lifting the track 2-1 on R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs. A 2 percent jump in digital downloads (to 33,000) adds to its chart points sum as well. For a fifth week in a row, “Broccoli” remains at No. 2 on Rap Digital Songs.  HustleTV

D.R.A.M. (an acronym for Does Real Ass Music) simultaneously scores his first top 10 on the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop airplay chart with “Broccoli,” hopping 11-9 in its 11th frame, with a 6 percent increase in spins at the format through Sept. 11.

Over on the Billboard Artist 100, which blends album sales, track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media data to measure the week’s most popular artists across all genres, D.R.A.M hits a new high, leaping 74-64.

On Sept. 13 it was announced that D.R.A.M. and Lil Yachty will perform the chart-topper on the 2016 BET Hip Hop Awards, set to air on October 4.  HustleTV

Lil Yachty’s ‘1 Night’ Sails: Meanwhile, Lil Yachty’s debut charting track “1 Night” climbs 31-27 on Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop with a 25 percent hike in spins. The song first arrived in March, when it peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard + Twitter Emerging Artists chart, which measures the volume of tweets about new artists and their songs.  HustleTV

JOHNNY DEPP WILL ATTEMPT TO SOLVE TUPAC AND BIGGIE’S DEATHS IN A NEW

By | Featured, Interviews, Movie Trailers | No Comments

HustleTV Movie News…. Exactly 20 years ago today, Tupac Shakur was fatally shot in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas. Six months later, his principal rap rival, Notorious B.I.G., was gunned down in Los Angeles. Both murders remain unsolved — but now Johnny Depp intends to fix that.

The actor has been tapped to star in Labyrinth, a thriller that has nothing to do with David Bowie’s Goblin King (probably) and everything to do with the two rappers’ murders. Depp will play Detective Russell Poole, a former Los Angeles police detective who theorized that Death Row Records mogul Suge Knight staged the shooting of Tupac to get out of paying him millions of dollars in royalties. Poole also believed that Knight worked with an LAPD officer to kill Biggie in retaliation for Tupac’s murder. He ultimately left the force and dedicated his life to the case, before passing away from a heart attack in 2015.

Labyrinth is adapted from the thoroughly titled 2003 book LAbyrinth: A Detective Investigates the Murders of Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G., the Implication of Death Row Records’ Suge Knight, and the Origins of the Los Angeles Police Scandal, by Randall Sullivan. The film, which starts production next year, is being helmed by Brad Furman, who previously directed The Lincoln Lawyer.

Labyrinth is just the latest Hollywood project to take a look at Tupac and Biggie’s lives. A new ‘Pac biopic, All Eyez On Me, wrapped production earlier this year, and a comedy series based on Biggie’s life is currently in development at TBS. HustleTV

Snoop Dogg on Suge Knight: ‘I Love His Gangsta Head’

By | Interviews, Music | No Comments

HustleTV Music News…. Snoop Dogg, one of the OG’s of the rap game, sat down with N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN on the Drink Champs podcast on CBS Radio’s Play.it podcast network to talk about his recent work with fellow west coast rapper, The Game, to ease the tension in Los Angeles. He also shared stories about the first time he met Nas, and an early Death Row story, in which is—somewhat surprisingly—expressed affection for the label’s notorious leader, Suge Knight.

“The first song we ever worked on was ‘G Thang,’” he said of his relationship with Dr. Dre. “We did a seven day tour for The Chronic, Run-D.M.C., Geto Boys and Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. And that motherf—– lasted seven days because on the seventh day of Christmas my true love gave to me all the Bloods and Crips that we had…every city we went to, it was a problem because they was like you can’t take all these rough, tough Bloods and Crips together.”

While the lineup and reception was great from the fans, Snoop revealed that there was plenty of resistance by law enforcement and members of the local communities. HustleTV

“By the seventh day, we was chilling with some hoes in there and Suge knocked on my door, ‘Put the TV on channel 4,’” he continued. “I put it on channel 4 and the news was outside with the police and everything ‘Yeah we’re about to come in here and get these n—-s out of here right now, we got them surrounded.’ Suge, I swear, that’s why I love his gangsta head…[he] found a way to get me, him and Dr. Dre out… We ran through a back window, ran across a freeway, got us a motherf—–‘ rental car, drove to the next state, got us a private plane and we flew the f— up out of there. G s—, that n—- Suge Knight was a cold gangster.”

Gang life was a part of many of Snoop’s stories, including the first time he met New York rapper Nas. “It’s early 90’s, like ’93 or ’94, so I’m out there hanging with my homeboys. It’s a long street so we’re out there like seven or eight deep and a long van pull up, a white van, a 15 passenger van. A n—- jump out with an all red sweatsuit with one leg of his sweatpants lifted all the way up with some boots on and he’s running across the street where I’m at,” said Snoop in laughter; Nas, unknowingly, was wearing Blood colors in a Crip neighborhood.

“So my n—-s is finna get they thing out, I’m like hold on cuz, that’s the rapper from New York named Nas,” he continued. “This the first time I meet cuz and he running to me and I shake his hand. [I said,] ‘You got on all red in a Crip neighborhood and you brought a 15 passenger van, it looks real suspicious.’ When I shake his hand, I’m like ‘Check yourself, cuz. Next time you out here, here go my number, you got to call me first.’” HustleTV

Snoop also discussed his work with The Game; the two have been in the news lately advocating for an open dialogue between those who feel victim to bad policing as well as police departments who are expressing their own opinions. The two approached L.A. mayor Eric Garcetti, and the heads of the Los Angeles Police Department to start the beginnings of the new dialogue.

“[Game’s] spirit was ‘We’re not going to go down there and smash at them but we’re going to talk to them and build a relationship,’” said Snoop. “If you don’t have any communication, the police are going to be scared when they pull up and just start throwing down when it should be about getting an understanding.”

Snoop reveals countless more stories and over shots and mary jane. To hear part one of the Drink Champs interview with Snoop Dogg, listen below. DJ Hustle

Joe Jonas Says He’s ‘So Proud’ of Little Brother Nick, Calls Demi Lovato ‘The Best Version of Herself I’ve Ever Known’

By | Interviews | No Comments

HustleTV Music News…  When we call Joe Jonas to talk to him about his incredibly hardworking little brother Nick, the DNCE star happens to be in Cabo San Lucas. “We just got off the road, but I’m on vacation,” he says. “Our guitar player is getting her tonsils out, so it forced us to get some down time.” But you get the feeling no one was twisting his arm about Mexico. The boy-band survivor is doing just fine, and now that his band’s “Cake by the Ocean” video has surpassed Nick’s “Close” video by a margin of nearly 40 million views, we figure he’s ready to share some insight on his younger sibling’s success — especially in light of Nick’s Future Now tour with their longtime friend Demi Lovato, whom Joe began dating while they were all on the set of Camp Rock together nearly a decade ago. The romance fizzled, but, as Jonas sees it, an incredible camaraderie remains. DJ Hustle

You’ve known Nick all of his life and Demi for most of yours. Are you surprised that these two kids from Camp Rock are doing this huge tour together now?

It’s surprising just in the world we live in — it’s tough to stay friends with people who are in the industry over this much time. But they are two of the closest. They’ve seen each other go through so much, personally and in their careers. It’s cool to see this bond now that they’re adults. I think it’s nice for an audience as well — they get to watch Nick and Demi grow up, not only together, but also musically. HustleTV

You’re closer to them than most. How would you describe their friendship?

You’d think they’re siblings, sometimes more than Nick and I. They pick on each other, they play games… Demi’s a great listener, and she keeps Nick smiling — she’ll always make a serious situation laughable. So, they’ve found great support with one another and they lean on each other creatively. Nick’s evolved so much as a writer. Demi’s voice is stronger than ever. It’s difficult to take a backseat and say, “Let’s work together and figure out something great.” I commend them both for that. DJ Hustle

Demi talks about writing “Gonna Get Caught” when you two were dating. Was it weird to know your brother was helping her write songs about you?

I was oblivious to that until I was asked to step out of a songwriting session or two, then it started to be a little clearer what this was about. [Laughs] We’ve seen each other go through tough times, good times, in and out of relationships. It’s funny to think back on that now. It feels like we were children, although I guess we were. She is like a sister to both of us, and it’s great to know we all have that support. It’s like, it doesn’t matter what comes our way. We’re going to be able to make it through. HustleTV

Nick’s had a really great couple of years. Are you proud of your little bro?

I’m so proud of him, man. I’ll be honest, I was a bit envious when I saw him catapult into this personal success. I was hungry for it, but it’s something you can’t rush and Nick’s always creative — his favorite hang time is in the studio. We’ll be on vacation and he’ll be writing songs. He doesn’t turn that switch off. We used to laugh about it, because way back when we had crazy 24-hour [Jonas Brothers] days, we’d be like, “We’ll get through this,” but he enjoyed it. He’s stronger in ways than I am. The dude will do a tour, then go shoot a movie. I’m like, “Okay, now where’s vacation?” DJ Hustle

You’ve seen Demi go through it. What can you say about who she is today?

She’s the best version of herself I’ve ever known. She’s healthy and that’s obviously something a lot of the world knows now, but she’s gotten over [the really hard part].

I know a lot of friends who’ve gone through similar things and it’s when you have to live with your new self for a few years — that comes with a lot of struggle. And being a pop star on top of that, that’s a lot of pressure, but she’s amazing at speaking truth to what she believes. I wish I could have a bit more of that. Excuse my language, but she doesn’t give a f—. She goes out there and says, “This is who I am.” Considering what we’ve all come from, it’s not always easy. We feel like we have to be cautious.

You’ve said a lot of nice things. What about Nick drives you crazy?

[Laughs] Oh man. One thing about my brother that drives me crazy is he’s very competitive. I love golf, but I had to take a break from playing with him because it would get to be too much. Then I play with friends and they’re just messing around, drinking beers, and I’m like, “Okay, I’m not crazy.” So, sometimes he doesn’t know how to [chill], but now that I don’t get to see him as often, I don’t mind it as much. HustleTV

You’ve described Demi as like a sister. Sisters can drive you crazy too…

Oh yeah. It’s so funny. Demi will overhear me and Nick talking and she’ll be like, [demandingly] “What are you talking about?!” So she likes the gossip. She likes hearing about my girl drama. I’m always like, “I wasn’t talking to you, Demi.”

Nick said she had some choice advice for him: get out and sleep around.

[Laughs] That sounds about right.

Do you have a story that exemplifies the chemistry between you three?

We were talking about this today actually. We used to do these satellite media tours, where we’d be staring into a camera, talking to local news outlets around the states or the world. Right before we were going on tour together for Camp Rock, we were doing so many of these that we started making a game out of it. Like, “If you can say ‘Jerry Springer’ and sing the theme song to Friends, you win.” We got so good at it, and then so sloppy, that by the last interviews we were saying whatever came to our minds. At one point I remember somebody saying, “I think they’re drunk” after we got off the call because it didn’t make any sense. They’d ask a question, and all of a sudden someone’s talking about squirrels. Those are the moments we treasure. HustleTV

DJ KHALED SAYS HE GOT A CONDO IN NYC IN ORDER TO SECURE A VERSE FROM JAY Z

By | Interviews, Music | No Comments

HustleTV Music News….   Apparently the key to getting a rare Jay Z verse in 2016 involves acquiring property in Hov’s home city.

If you’ve been paying attention to DJ Khaled’s Snapchat story over the last year or so, you may have noticed he spends a lot of time in New York City. Now we know part of the reason why. Sitting down with Music Choice, Khaled revealed that he was so hungry for a verse from Jay Z for his forthcoming Major Key.  album that he had to get a whole new set of keys. DJ Hustle

“It took me years to get Jay Z to do a record for me,” he says. “I basically got a condo in NYC for a whole year to stay close by him and let him know how hungry I was for that verse. So I went in studio every day. He was recording his album and I appreciate him letting me be around and capture that greatness, but at and at the same time I was hustling too, you know what I am saying. I wanna get that verse in.”

As we know, the verse eventually came in the form of a guest spot on Khaled’s “I Got The Keys” single with Future, but the process took a whole year.

“It was a year process that I had to go back and forth to Miami to NY and I had condo in NY and so I stayed in NY so I had to let him know I’m not going nowhere,” Khaled explains. “Basically, we made history. I am never stopping.”

Starting off as a DJ performing at major venues across the country, DJ Hustle decided to branch out and formed “Hustle TV” in 2008 with the show being aired via the Time Warner Cable system.
Within a one year time period, “Hustle TV” had caught on with the Hip Hop audience nationwide, while DJ Hustle’s rapport with the various Rap music stars and sports figures enabled him to secure the “street level, uncut interviews” the artist themselves preferred and that the viewers so desperately wanted to see.
As DJ Hustle’s grind in the streets took his platform to new heights, the success of Hustle TV motivated him to reach even further and he started to lay the foundation for building a “street edged” one hour cable TV show for Hustle TV that would focus on “controversial street figures and business people.”
