Lana Del Rey, the Weeknd Dance on ‘Hollywood

By | Featured, Music, News, Video | No Comments

Lana Del Rey  slow dances with The Weeknd  in Dorothy-like ruby red shoes atop the “Hollywood” sign in the dreamlike video for their new duet, “Lust for Life.” DJ Hustle

Between bursts of VHS-quality visual distortion, the singers swoon and cuddle while gazing at the night sky. At the climax, Del Rey skips across the sign’s letters and slides down the ending “D.” “Lust for Life,” the title-track from Del Rey’s upcoming fifth LP, marks the singers’ third studio collaboration, following two Weeknd tracks: 2015’s “Prisoner” and last year’s “Stargirl Interlude.” DJ Hustle

In a recent interview with with California radio station KROQ, Del Rey credited the Weeknd for helping launch her career. “He’s kind of the reason I was ever on the radio like six years ago,” she said. “He started posting all my videos on his Tumblr and social media … He’s been in touch with me ever since then. He’s always been really supportive. He had his own path, which led him to this place that’s crazy big. But we’ve just been friends for maybe the past six years.” HustleTV

Del Rey also revealed to KROQ the title of her upcoming Stevie Nicks collaboration, “Beautiful People, Beautiful Problems,” and detailed the song’s creation. The ” Love” singer explained that, after deciding that Lust for Lifeneeded an outside female presence, she and producer Rick Nowels approached the Fleetwood Mac vocalist.

“I kind of thought I had finished the record a couple times,” she said. “One of those times, I felt I wanted a woman on the record, and I was talking to [Nowels] about who would be great to get on the record. We both could only come up with Stevie. Funny enough, he went to high school with Stevie and wrote his first hit with her.”

Del Rey praised Nicks as “amazing,” noting that she stays up to date with contemporary music. “She’s kind of everything you hope she’s going to be,” the singer added. “She loved the track and added so much to it.” Listen to the full interview below: Follow Hustle on Twitter @DJHustle or Instagram DJHustle2407

Why You Have To Hustle To Get DJing Achievement

By | Featured, Life Style, Music, News | No Comments

Why You Have To Hustle To Get DJing Achievement.

I’m always banging on about how you need to get gigs to really learn DJing – and unless you’re one of those DJs who’s happy messing around in your bedroom doing mixes for only yourself to hear, I stand right by that: No crowd, no deal. DJing is done in public. It’s a two-way thing, and it can’t be two way if it’s only you there. Thing is, to get those gigs, you need to hustle – and many people aren’t at all comfortable with that, especially beginners. DJ Hustle

“I’m not good enough!” they say. Well sorry, I’m going to hit you with it: You’ll never get good enough unless you get out of your comfort zone and land those gigs.  DJ Hustle

Luckily, you don’t have to be an amazing DJ to start playing in public. The important thing is that you need to start. I’m going to tell you some of my own story, and then introduce you to two other DJs – Elliot and Peter – to show you exactly what I mean. About four years into my “club” DJing career, I was running my own club night, playing every Saturday to 500+ people. I was a fully professional DJ and promoter. I was paying the club hire fee, the doormen, the other DJs. I was making enough money to be buying my own house from what was left over. I was in touch with agents and booking big names, who were playing alongside me. Other times, when we had no big names playing, I would play the night either with my resident DJ partner or even on my own. Our crowd was loyal, and people often commented that the resident-only nights were better than the guest DJ nights!  Follow Hustle on Twitter @DJHustle or Instagram DJHustle2407

Drake Sets Single-Year Recordat 2017 Billboard Music Awards

By | Featured, Music, News | No Comments

Drake stole the show at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards in more ways than one, taking home 13 honors, surpassing Adele’s mark as the artist with the most BBMA wins in one night, delivering a fiery performance in the middle of the famous Bellagio fountain and, maybe, getting himself a date after hitting on co-host Vanessa Hudgens during his acceptance speech for winning Top Billboard 200 Album for ViewsHustleTV

“It’s crazy that we’re all here on earth for a limited amount of time, and we gotta show love while we’re here,” he said on stage midway through the telecast, before getting straight to the point: “Vanessa Hudgens, you look incredible tonight.” (Hudgens acknowledged that shortly afterward by asking if she was on the invite list for Drake’s afterparty.) HustleTV

By then, Drake had already racked up 12 BBMAs — 10 in the pre-telecast categories, and one earlier in the show for Top Male Artist — on his way to a record-breaking 13 victories, which he achieved with the evening’s final honor, Top Artist, to overtake Adele’s previous record of 12 in 2012. It’s an impressive number for an artist who utterly dominated 2016, shattering streaming records over and over again with the success of his album Views and its monster single “One Dance” featuring Wiz Kid and Kyla. DJ Hustle

Diddy Pays Tribute to the Notorious B.I.G., Debuts Bad Boy Documentary.

Sean “Diddy” Combs made a surprise appearance at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards this evening in Las Vegas, on what would have been The Notorious Big’s 45th birthday. The flagship artist of Diddy’s Bad Boy Records, which he started in 1993 as a vehicle for Big and Craig Mack and which went on to a wildly successful run as one of hip-hop’s most historically significant record labels, B.I.G. was killed 20 years ago this March, just weeks before the release of his sophomore album, Life After Death.

“It all started with the Notorious B.I.G.,” Diddy said, referencing Bad Boy’s creation and its 500 million albums sold over the past 20-plus years. “Big sold over 25 million records worldwide; his Ready to Die album, his Life After Death album, classics… Biggie was the best rapper I ever had the chance to work with. Watching him and seeing him work is something that words can’t explain.” HustleTV

Diddy then led the crowd in a standing ovation and ran a clip of himself presenting Big’s mother, Ms. Voletta Wallace, with a special award at the BBMAs shortly after her son’s death. He then introduced Big’s son, CJ Wallace, himself an aspiring actor and artist, who delivered a short but poignant tribute to his dad, saying, “I know my father is looking down on all of us tonight.”

But then Diddy referenced the 20th anniversary of Bad Boy, which he celebrated with a tour last year alongside his former artists Faith Evans,112, The L.O.X. and Ma$e, among others. A documentary about the label’s history, Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop, will be released June 25th via Apple Music, and the mogul debuted the trailer for the film live on the BBMAs. Chris Cornell Dies at 52 Singer with Soundgarden

By | Featured, Music, News | No Comments

Chris Cornell who gained fame as the lead singer of the bands Soundgarden and later Audioslave , has died at age 52, according to his representative. HustleTV

Cornell, who had been on tour, died Wednesday night in Detroit, Brian Bumbery said in a statement to The Associated Press.

Bumbery called the death “sudden and unexpected” and said his wife and family were shocked by it. The statement said the family would be working closely with the medical examiner to determine the cause and asked for privacy.

With his powerful, nearly four-octave vocal range, Cornell was one of the leading voices of the 1990s grunge movement with Soundgarden, which emerged as one of the biggest bands out of Seattle’s emerging music scene, joining the likes of Nirvana ,Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains .

Formed in 1984 by Cornell, guitarist Kim Thayil and bassist Hiro Yamamoto, Soundgarden’s third studio album, Badmotorfinger, in 1991 spawned enormously popular singles “Jesus Christ Pose,” ”Rusty Cage” and “Outshined” that received regular play on alternative rock radio stations. DJ Hustle

Cornell also collaborated with members of what would become Pearl Jam to form Temple of the Dog, which produced a self-titled album in 1991 in tribute to friend Andrew Wood, former frontman for Mother Love Bone .HustleTV

Audioslave disbanded in 2007, but Cornell and Soundgarden reunited in 2012 and released the band’s sixth studio album, King Animal in 2012. In addition to his music, Cornell also became involved in philanthropy and started the Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation to support children facing challenges, including homelessness, poverty, abuse and neglect.

Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee Celebrate ‘Despacito’ Topping Hot 100

By | Featured, Music, News | No Comments

Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee

An incredibly rare feat for a core Latin song, it marks the first time in more than 20 years that a primarily Spanish-language song has crowned the all-genre tally, since Los Del Rio’s “Macarena,” powered by its Bayside Boys remix, ruled the chart for 14 weeks in 1996. HustleTV

Fonsi told Billboard upon learning of the coronation of “Despacito,” “It feels amazing to know that a mostly Spanish song is No. 1. Language isn’t a factor. Music unites us!”

Luis-Fonsi-Despacito-ft.-Daddy-Yankee-www.HustleTV.tv-DJHustle

Luis-Fonsi-Despacito-ft.-Daddy-Yankee-www.HustleTV.tv-DJHustle

The remix, which begins with a new English verse by Bieber, does not stray far from its original version throughout the rest of the track. Bieber joins in on the all-Spanish chorus, while Fonsi adds one transcribed English line later in the song.

Daddy Yankee also shared his joy with Billboard after finding out the news, beaming, “Wow, this is definitely not only a big achievement for Luis Fonsi and for me, but it’s a big achievement for music in general. We are crossing cultural barriers and unifying the world through music.” HustleTV

“Despacito” concurrently spends a 15th week atop the Hot Latin Songs chart, where it first reigned on Feb. 18, then fueled only by its original all-Spanish version. The release of the remix with Bieber on April 17 catapulted the track into the top 10 (48-9) of the Hot 100 (where it had previously peaked at No. 44).

The pop/urban track stays true to the Latin rhythms that have been dominating the genre in recent years. “To me, you have two very catchy choruses,” Daddy Yankee says. “The main chorus [‘Despacito’] and the pre-chorus [‘pasito a pasito’], both with something very special that the world embraced. They have magic, and a melody that everyone could relate to. Add to it the instrumentation, combined with the reggaeton sound, which has become popular worldwide.”

Adds Fonsi, “‘Despacito’ is a mix of Latin, pop and urban flavors. The rhythm is contagious and people are connecting to it. I’m honored to have worked with Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber.” HustleTV

Katy Perry & ‘American Idol ‘ Will She Be The Next Judge

By | Featured, Life Style, Music, News | No Comments

Katy Perry is in the homestretch … negotiating a deal to become the anchor judge on “American Idol,” and the announcement is expected to go down Tuesday. HustleTV

TMZ broke the story … ‘AI’ honchos set their sights on Perry after their bid for Kelly Clarkson went south and she joined “The Voice.” Sources familiar with the negotiations tell us Idol’s goal is to announce Katy is joining the reboot during the ABC Upfronts this week. Our sources say they will not announce the other 2 judges because ‘Idol’ hasn’t even decided who it wants.

As we reported, Ryan Seacrest will almost certainly be the host.

Here’s the challenge. Idol went off the air on FOX because it became too expensive to produce, and everyone involved in the show doesn’t want a repeat of that problem. Seacrest and Perry will not come cheap, for sure … so the other 2 judges can’t break the bank.

American Idol www.HustleTV.tv DJ Hustle katy perry

American Idol www.HustleTV.tv DJ Hustle katy perry

Fact is, Idol’s last few seasons had big stars, but the show didn’t get bang for its buck. We’re told the other judges will likely be a songwriter and a music producer.

Our sources say producers and the network don’t feel the need to get 3 big singing stars on the panel, because ultimately the show is about the competition and making it interesting. HustleTV

L.A. Reid Departure Sony Music Issues Statement

By | Featured, Life Style, Music, News | No Comments

L.A. Reid

Sony Music Entertainment has issued a brief statement regarding the sudden exit of veteran label executive L.A. Reid, who served as chairman/CEO of Epic Records.

“L.A. Reid will be leaving the company,” the statement reads. HustleTV

LA-Reid-press-cr-Courtesy-of-Epic-2017-hustletv-djhustle

LA-Reid-press-cr-Courtesy-of-Epic-2017-hustletv-djhustle

News of Reid’s unexplained exit from the Sony-owned label arrived Thursday (May 11), jolting many in the music industry, given Reid’s turnaround in recent years of the label behind what is currently the No. 1 song on the Hot 100, DJ Khaled’s “I’m the One.”

Reid had been at the helm of Epic for nearly six years. He has overseen a successful run in recent years at Epic, with back-to-back No. 1 albums in 2017 already, both from Future, and chart-topping LPs from Future,DJ Khaled,Travi$ Scott and a reunited A Tribe Called Quest in 2016.

The move arrived just weeks after former Columbia Records chief Rob Stringer assumed his new role as CEO of Sony Music Entertainment in April. HustleTV

The sudden, unexplained exit of veteran label executive L.A. Reid from Sony Music Entertainment jolted the music industry Thursday, given Reid’s turnaround in recent years of Sony’s Epic Records — the label behind what is currently the No. 1 song on the Hot 100, DJ Khaled’s “I’m the One.”

While insiders say they had anticipated Reid’s departure amid a recent regime change at Sony, the move still leaves Sony’s new chief Rob Stringer with some big holes to fill, just over a month into his tenure in the top job. Vacancies at two of Sony’s three biggest labels include the post at Epic, where Reid had served as chairman and CEO since 2011, as well as the lead role at Sony’s flagship Columbia Records, which Stringer has been presiding over for years as it has churned out monster albums by stars from Adele to Beyonc’e.

Sony also lost a singular leader for its international division after Edger Berger — Sony Music International’s former chairman and CEO — departed in January after six years on the job. But a source inside the company chalks Berger’s exit up to corporate restructuring, saying the position was a relic of an outdated industry model that had the effect of creating a middleman between top Sony Music brass and the heads of its major territories, who will now report directly to Stringer. HustleTV

Meantime, with Reid having been among the few black executives running labels at major record companies, his departure decreases the diversity among Sony’s top executive ranks at time when hip-hop is becoming more important to the industry than ever, thanks to the genre’s soaring popularity on streaming services worldwide. During his tenure at Epic, Reid significantly bolstered the label’s hip-hop roster, bringing in artists such as Future, Khaled,Rick Ross,Travi$ Scott and Diddy’s Bad Boy Records imprint, among others.

Sony has been heavily outspending competitors to win marquee talent in recent years, winning a bidding war that sources characterized as particularly competitive in its deal to sign Harry Styles, for example. But several prominent Sony executives have left the company over the past few years, including former Columbia president Ashley Newton, who departed to join former Columbia co-chairman Steve Barnett at Capitol; Mat Vlasic, who departed as head of Sony’s merchandising division to take over as CEO of UMG’s Bravado; and Ole Obermann, formerly EVP of digital partner development and sales at Sony, who joined Warner Music Group. HustleTV

Emmis CEO Calls Sale of Los Angeles Hip-Hop Radio Station Power 106 ‘Bittersweet’

By | Featured, Music, News | No Comments

Emmis

On Tuesday (May 9), Los Angeles radio saw its landscape shift toward what very well could be the early stages of a major schism. Emmis Communications, the media company with stakes in industries including publishing, digital and radio, struck a deal to sell it’s coveted Power 106 radio station (KPWR-FM), which it acquired in 1984 from Century Broadcasting, for a hefty $82.75 million to Meruelo Group, a holdings company with stakes in real estate, construction, food and service, and media.

“It’s bittersweet, but it’s the right decision for our people and the right decision for our company,” Emmis Chairman/CEO Jeff Smulyan tells Billboard. “The people in power are going to have more resources to fight the battle and we wiped out 60 percent of our debt overnight.” HustleTV

la-skyline-2017-billboard-www.HustleTV.tv Power 106 DJHustle

la-skyline-2017-www.HustleTV.tv Power 106 DJHustle

It’s a substantial load off for Emmis, which is facing a step down in its line of credit. In April, Emmis entered into a fourth amendment to a 2014 credit agreement that, as part of its terms, promised to generate at least $80 million in sale proceeds with a deadline of Jan. 18, 2018. Knowing the company’s leverage ratio, a mix of debt to financially power their operations and the owners’ equity, was going to stay at a rate of about four times, the company talked to its lenders about a potential refinancing, but ultimately decided it would be too expensive. HustleTV

Emmis had already been in discussions with the Meruelo Group and others in Los Angeles since January and a sale seemed inevitable. As part of the deal, which is pending FCC approval, Meruelo must reportedly retain the power 106 staff of around 90 employees.

“We love the radio business,” continues Smulyan. “I think the business has changed and it’s a tougher business, but obviously, managing our portfolio, leveraged at three times as opposed to five-and-a-half times, it’s obviously a much different proposition. So it’s a lot easier. I learned a long time ago you never say never. But we’ll see in the ratings.”

Some industry critics have speculated that the sale of Power 106 is due to a newly-competitive market and an attempt to cut its losses before the property’s value decreased. Real 92.3 (KRRL), an iHeartMedia property that switched to an urban format in Feb. 2015, became an instant competitor by luring Power 106’s on air personality. Big Boy with a reported $3.5 million salary that Emmis tried to match, and which spurred a 5 million lawsuit.

Then, on Jan. 6, 2016, Emmis laid off 32 workers to cut $7.5 million from its budget, which some connected to the rise in 92.3’s ratings over Power 106. Today, 92.3 has a 2.7 share with age 6+ total-week AQH, over Power’s 2.6, according to Nielsen Audio PPM, placing the former at No. 15 in Nielsen ratings for Los Angeles and the latter at No. 13.

“Because you’re competing with another company that has five other stations there, it’s easier for them to allocate resources against you when you’re a standalone,” says Smulyan. “We had four or five direct competitors in 35 years and we’re fortunate to always prevail. Our internal research showed that we were going to be fine, but we also said that given everything, it was probably time to reappraise our resources. We had a lot of debt.” HustleTV

But, he adds, “I think we sort of withstood the major attack. If you look at the ratings trend, the 18-34 [ratings], we felt the brand was fine. But we also felt that only having one station there, it made some sense. We’ve been competing in this business for 40 years. Especially with a company like iHeart which has its own challenges. But if you look at all the factors, we thought this was the wisest decision.”

Power 106 has been a hot property in Los Angeles for decades, serving as the West Coast’s answer to New York City’s Emmis-owned Hot 97. It began as a Rhythmic Top 40 station and switched to hip-hop and R&B in 1992; today it’s considered a tastemaker, putting on three variety concerts a year, most recently featuring acts like Lil Wayne, DJ Khaled and Big Sean at its Powerhouse 2017 show on May 6.

Meruelo Group, run by Alex Meruelo and founded in 1986, adds Power 106 to its L.A. properties including radio station KDAY and TV station KWHY-22. The purchase was done following its participation in the FCC TV spectrum auction in early 2017. HustleTV

Born and raised in Watts, California … DJ Hustle  and his new “HustleTV ” have quietly become one of the hottest platforms for entertainers and sports figures to get their real, uncut interviews aired to the youthful viewers and to Hip Hop audiences worldwide.

Starting off as a DJ performing at major venues across the country, DJ Hustle  decided to branch out and formed “HustleTV ” in 2008 with the show being aired via the Time Warner Cable system.

Within a one year time period, “HustleTV ” had caught on with the Hip Hop audience nationwide, while DJ Hustle’s rapport with the various Rap music stars and sports figures enabled him to secure the “street level, uncut interviews” the artist themselves preferred and that the viewers so desperately wanted to see.

As DJ Hustle’s grind in the streets took his platform to new heights, the success of Hustle TV motivated him to reach even further and he started to lay the foundation for building a “street edged” one hour cable TV show for Hustle TV that would focus on “controversial street figures and business people”.

Tina Fey Joins Jimmy Fallon’s Ragtime Gals for Least Sexy Bruno Mars

By | Comedy, Music, News | No Comments

Tina Fey

Nothing says sexy like a barbershop quartet. Especially one singing about silk sheets, diamonds, sex by the fire and booty dropping. Now add Tina Fey. Bingo. HustleTV

The former 30 Rock star dropped by The Tonight Show on Wednesday (May 10) to visit her old Saturday Night Live pal Jimmy Fallon and sit in with his old-timey barbershop crew, The Ragtime Gals, for a spirited, sex-less-on-purpose cover of Bruno Mars‘ “That’s What I Like.” HustleTV

Fey also gave Jimmy an update on the Mean Girls musical she’s producing, telling him it’s “moving along” and that previews will start later this year after the bound-for-Broadway show gets its act together at a theater three blocks from the White House.

“We’re going to D.C. We’re at the National Theatre,” she revealed. “Previews start on Halloween. It’s so cool. It’s so fun because — you can sing — but I’ve been in stuff that’s like movie musicals, whatever, a little bit. The secret with movie musicals is you can secretly suck and be a star. But to do things on stage? Like, these kids are so talented. We have the cast now. We’ve been rehearsing for about a month. There’s a bunch of baby Timberlakes. Everyone can do everything! They just sing so loud and they dance so hard.” HustleTV

Mary J. Blige’s ‘Strength of a Woman’ Tops R&B Chart

By | Music, News | No Comments

Mary J. Blige crowns the R&B Albums chart as her latest release, Strength of a Woman, arrives on the May 20-dated tally with 78,000 equivalent album unites earned in the tracking week ending May 4, according to Nielsen Music. The set simultaneously becomes her 20th career entry on both the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart (bowing at No. 2) and the Billboard 200 (No. 3). Blige’s Billboard 200 entrance marks her highest-charting effort since 2010, when Stronger With Each Tear debuted at No. 2.

The R&B Albums chart ranks the most popular R&B albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). It is one of Billboard’s numerous genre-specific album charts that rank the popularity of albums by equivalent album units. HustleTV

Meanwhile, Blige’s latest single “U + Me (Love Lesson)” spends a third consecutive week atop the Adult R&B Songs airplay chart (up 5 percent in spins in the week ending May 7). The song became Blige’s sixth chart-topper at the format when it reached the summit on the May 6 chart issue. The single concurrently hops 25-19 on the Hot R&B Songs chart in its second frame.

Elsewhere on Adult R&B Songs, Strength’s opening track “Love Yourself,” featuring Kanye West, has a slight dip, stepping 20-21 in its fifth week (down 7 percent in plays).

Earlier this year, Blige scored her longest-running No. 1 on Adult R&B Songs as the new album’s lead single “Thick of It” wrapped up a 16-week run atop the chart — surpassing her previous best with “Be Without You,” which spent 14 weeks at No. 1 in 2006. “Thick of It” is among only nine tracks to spend 16 weeks or more on the list. (The longest run at No. 1 on the 24-year-old chart is tied between Maxwell’s “Fortunate” and Jill Scott’s “So In Love,” featuring Anthony Hamilton, each with 18 weeks at No. 1.) HustleTV

Lady Gaga’s incredible vocals strike again.

As part of this past weekend’s Cheek to Cheek concert with Tony Bennett at the Hollywood Bowl, Lady Gaga performed Édith Piaf’s classic single “La Vie En Rose.” Starting the number in French and finishing in English, the stunning, restrained performance delighted the crowd — and, judging from the YouTube view count numbers, plenty of people at home as well.

Watch it below — do you like it more, less or the same as her Oscars salute to The Sound of Music?  HustleTV

DJ Khaled ‘I’m the One’

By | Featured, Music, News, Video | No Comments

DJ Khaled

“One,” released April 28, opens at No. 1 on the Streaming Songs chart with 53.9 million U.S. streams in the week ending May 4, according to Nielsen Music. It also arrives atop the Digital Song Sales chart with 171,000 downloads sold in the week ending May 4. On Radio Songs, “One” is the week’s top debut at No. 33 with 35 million in all-format airplay audience in the week ending May 7. HustleTV

Bieber earns his eighth Digital Song Sales No. 1 and third Streaming Songs No. 1, while Lil Wayne lands his third No. 1 on the sales list (and first on Streaming Songs). The other three acts on “One” rule each ranking for the first time.

Number ‘One’ debut: “One” is just the 28th title to debut at No. 1 on the Hot 100. It’s the first since Ed Sheeran‘s “Shape of You” on the Jan. 28, 2017-dated chart. (“One” is the 1,064th total No. 1 in the history of the Hot 100, which began on Aug. 4, 1958.)

Meanwhile, “One” is the first rap song to debut atop the Hot 100 since Eminem’s “Not Afraid,” seven years ago this week (May 22, 2010).

Plus, “One” is the second song to debut atop the Hot 100 with, appropriately, the word “one” in its title: On Dec. 2, 1995, another superstar team-up, Mariah Careyand Boyz II Men‘s “One Sweet Day,” launched at the summit. It went on to spend a record 16 weeks at No. 1. Speaking of Carey… HustleTV

Bieber’s second No. 1 bow: Bieber becomes just the third artist to have debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100 with multiple titles. He first opened on top with his first leader, “What Do You Mean?” (Sept. 19, 2015). Carey leads with three No. 1 entrances (“Fantasy,” “One Sweet Day,” both in 1995, and “Honey,” 1997), while Britney Spears, like Bieber now, has made two such starts (“3,” in 2009, and “Hold It Against Me,” 2011).

Bieber & Lil Wayne’s latest Hot 100 leaders: Bieber and Lil Wayne are the chart-topping veterans on “One,” tallying their fourth and third Hot 100 No. 1, respectively. In addition to “One” and “Mean,” Bieber ruled in 2016 with “Sorry” and “Love Yourself.” Lil Wayne led with “Lollipop,” featuring Static Major, in 2008, and as featured on Jay Sean’s “Down,” in 2009.

The rest of the “One” team easily earns new Hot 100 highs. Khaled logged one prior top 10: “I’m On One,” featuring Drake, Rick Ross and (oh, look) Lil Wayne, which reached No. 10 in 2011. HustleTV

Quavo also collects his second top 10 (apart from Migos). Drake’s “Portland,” featuring Quavo and Travis Scott, debuted and peaked at No. 9 in April.

Chance the Rapper achieves not only his first Hot 100 No. 1 or top 10, but even his first top 40 hit: he’d climbed to a prior No. 41 best with his first entry, 2013’s featured turn on “Confident” by… Bieber.

Bieber goes fourth: Notably, Bieber has now earned more top five Hot 100 hits after his 2015 album Purpose than he did from the set: following the LP’s No. 1s “Mean,” “Sorry” and “Love Yourself,” he’s added four top fives in featured roles, on Major Lazer‘s “Cold Water” (also featuring MO; No. 2); DJ Snake‘s “Let Me Love You” (No. 4); Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee‘s “Despacito” (up to No. 3 this week, see below); and now Khaled’s No. 1 “One.” HustleTV

Tommy The Clown www.HustleTV.tv DJ Hustle –

has achieved 25 years of making a positive impact in the Los Angeles community promoting safety and the arts. Famous for creating the Krump, Battle Zone and clown dancing, a celebration is in order for the Tommy The Clown Academy 25 Year Anniversary on Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 6-9 PM at USC Galen Center, 3400 S. Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, CA 90089. HustleTV

This celebration will be an amazing show, featuring Kida The Great, NBC’s “World of Dance” winner; Ray Ray, Mindless Behavior; Famous Uno, T-Squad, Celebrity Guests, Official Battle Zone and more.

Tommy’s dance craze caught the attention of award-winning director and photographer, David LaChapelle – who was compelled to film the South LA founder of an international dance craze. LaChapelle directed the documentary feature, “RIZE”, which was released in summer of 2005 through Lionsgate Films. The movie was an immediate hit!

For 25 years, Tommy the Clown and T-Squad have performed for hundreds of thousands of people and regularly entertain a sold out 17,500 crowd at The Forum. Tommy speaks humbly of his inner city born dance team who are now hired to travel and entertain crowds all over the world including London, Japan, Germany and Hong Kong and has entertained celebrities such as Madonna, Pamela Anderson and Cedric the Entertainer.

Tommy the Clown was complimented by Councilman Curren Price as “…one of the top five non-political influencers in Los Angeles”. Using dance, he gives at-risk youth a unique opportunity to engage in the art of creative dancing, pulling kids and teens away from drugs and gangs into a group of communication and responsibilities.

Tommy The Clown 25 Year Anniversary is sponsored by Debbie Allen Dance Academy, USC Civic Engagement, BHS Family Health Center and Black Diamonds Drill Team & Drum Squad. Proceeds will benefit inner city students by receiving free dance classes and afterschool programs, which are designed to strengthen their communication with one another in a safe environment from their dangerous neighborhoods.

Tommy’s current mission is to expand the influence of his Hawthorne, CA based dance Academy to other locations throughout Los Angeles.

About Tommy The Clown

Thomas “Tommy the Clown” Johnson was born in Detroit and moved to South Los Angeles when he was an early teen. Like many of his friends and neighbors, Tommy found himself in and out of trouble while trying to survive. After living a troubled lifestyle, he realized that this lifestyle was not for him and that he needed to make a drastic change. Determined to never go back to his old ways, Thomas rejoined the working society by getting an honest job as a typist clerk. But in 1992, Thomas’ life changed in a way he could have never predicted. One of his co-workers asked him to be a clown for her child’s birthday and because of his upbeat personality and sense of humor, she thought he’d be perfect for the quick paying job. Up for the challenge, he took the job and Tommy the Clown was born. Tommy the Clown has since become the pioneer of an inspirational dance movement known as “Clowning” and “Krumping” and turned a popular form of birthday party entertainment into a worldwide phenomenon. HustleTV
