Critics Choice Awards 2019 Winners
The Awards season is in full swing critics have spoken. On Sunday night, the Broadcast Film Critics Association and Broadcast Television Journalists Association offered their yearly Critics’ Choice Awards, regarding accomplishment in motion pictures and TV over the previous year.
Alfonso Cuarón’s high contrast family show Roma was named Best Picture, while Christian Bale got two acting distinctions for his depiction of previous Vice President Dick Cheney in Vice (he won both Best Actor and Best Actor in a Comedy), and a tie implied both Glenn Close and Lady Gaga returned home with Best Actress respects.
That wasn’t the night’s solitary tie — in a prior minute, Amy Adams and Patricia Arquette held onto each other as they both won Best Actress in a Limited Series or Movie Made For Television for their particular jobs in Sharp Objects and Escape at Dannemora.
Supporting performing artist and on-screen character honors went to Mahershala Ali for Green Book and Regina King for If Beale Street Could Talk. On the TV side, The Americans was delegated Best Drama Series, while The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel won the parody class.
Lately, the Critics’ Choice Awards have been a to some degree exact — yet not dependable — indicator of Oscar achievement. Since 2008, the CCAs have effectively anticipated the possible Oscars victor for Best Picture multiple times, Best Actor multiple times, and Best Actress multiple times.
