Then, just a few weeks ago, Drake and Kanye West met at Drake’s Toronto home and worked over their issues, apparently at the insistence of the founder of Rap-A-Lot and a general hip-hop power broker J. Lesser-known songs are typically recreated by the choir in his sets.

Aside from the occasional memory lapse or attempt to keep the runtime under control, West didn’t have much between-song banter on his older tracks (pasting the third verse into the first verse, etc.). He also chose to edit some songs but not others for their cursing. Early in the show, the performance lacked momentum. It wasn’t long until he was loose and transmitting the euphoric ecstasy he’d been working so hard to eradicate from his presentations. And he ended that song like Big Gipp from Goodie Mob, saying “Sky high.” On “Say You Will,” a Mike Dean electric guitar solo breaks up the often monotonous musical section. I think it was Ye’s best and most cohesive show since the Pablo tour.

Netflix employees walked out on Wednesday in the morning in order to protest against Dave Chappelle’s “The Closer” which makes bad jokes referring to transgender people.

Even if Netflix and other employees were criticized for their judgment, Netflix still confirms that every individual has a right of its own opinion and they cannot be blamed for that. Dave Chappelle is a comedian who believes that gender is a fact and “every human…has to pass through the legs of a woman” in order to be born and live in this world.

His affirmations do not get any positive feedback as he by himself declared that he punched a lesbian in a nightclub. Though many people still keep accusing Netflix of discrimination and judgment against the LGBT+ community, Netflix maintains its opinion that Dave did not do anything offensive towards this community and they will not remove him.

Regarding its employees, Netflix once again said that they appreciate every human being and its decision, and even the ones who walked out have the right to make the best decision for them and they have nothing against them. Ted Sarandos, the co-Ceo of Netflix admitted that he made a very bad decision and it was more about miscommunication between him and employees. He recognizes his fault by saying that he should have told them before and that better communication could have managed this situation in a nicer way and could have turned it on a peaceful side avoiding these protests and judgment. He also added that right now there is a huge gap regarding internal communication and all of this happened just in a few days as he did not choose to communicate before.

Even if some of the people can say that being a comedian means to actually say jokes and not be serious about that. the employees and others agreed that what has been said in a comedy show has a real impact on the world and people who are doing this should assume their role without hurting anyone and without bringing these sensitive topics into discussion. The fact that these jokes were made towards the LGBT+ community had even a bigger impact since these people feel harm and judgment every day.

After these protests, people and Netflix’s employees are asking to bring more trans people into TV shows and put them in a better light especially after this big controversy that just happened. Besides all of this, some employees were fired after they shared confidential information about specials with Bloomberg. This is unacceptable from Netflix company’s perspective no matter how hurt some people might feel, trust is the key and it has to be kept inside this company.

People might have a different opinion about this controversy, supporting one or another side in this story. Using words against vulnerable persons might come with huge responsibility and this has to be managed well afterwords. But being human and understanding the needs of others should always play a crucial place no matter what we talk about.

Kim Kardashian West made her debut Saturday Night Live hosting gig recently, and despite not being a comedian or an actor, there was no doubt she has left a mark on the fan favourite show.

The iconic mother of four and savvy business woman owned the spotlight, with clever delivery of jokes, light humour, including taking the mickey out of herself and her family and seamless transition from one act to another, although some skits did fall flat and feel like any other week of SNL.

It has also been revealed she did her research beforehand, approaching high profile comedians for advice on things such as comedic delivery, which certainly shone with some deadpan delivery of witty lines. 

The Kardashian family have been frequent sources of material for SNL, so it was high time one of them, and it seemed appropriate it was Kim, would feature.

The episode opened with a skit about the current Facebook hearing, poking fun at the out of touch senators. It was a good opening, but it was the next section, Kim Kardashian West’s monologue that grabbed audiences attention. 

 Kim did not hold back when delivering her monologue.

 Dressed in a figure hugging, hot pink, one piece suit, she poked fun at herself, her family and friends with no topic seemingly off limits. From referencing her infamous sex tape as her ‘first movie premier’ to saying her reason behind divorcing rapper Kayne West for his ‘personality.’ OJ Simpson jokes here free flowing, and the appearance of the Kardashian women was also not off limits for Kim, including her own.

Up next came an Aladdin skit, with Pete Davidson taking on the role of Aladdin and Kim portraying Jasmin on a magic carpet ride, with Aladdin feeling insecure about his small stature. This one did not seem to make as much of an impact as other skits throughout the episode. 

Among the other skits of the night which stood out was ‘the Peoples Kourt,’ where Kim plays her sister, Kourtney, advertising a new show. Chris Redd comes onto the scene portraying Kanye, and is performance certainly is a stand out. 

The Lotto Drawing skit was also widely regarded as a stand out, with Cecily and Kim delivering a well-timed and deadpan performance, which was just what the skit required to work. ‘Ladies Night’ was also popular, an ode to older women and the struggles of clubbing (something many views no doubt could sympathise with) and the ‘Skims Shape Wear for Thick Dogs,’ also was a eye catching and engaging. Dogs in suits afterall!

Naturally other members of the powerhouse family made a cameo appearance, with Kris Jenner and Khloe Kardashian appearing in the ‘the switch’ skit.

Musician Halsey also made an appearance, wowing audiences with her performance of I am Not a Woman, I am God, before Lindsay Buckingham joined her onstage for their rendition of Darling. 

Overall, Kim’s hosting ability was good. It is a fair assessment to say many perhaps did not have high hopes for her comedic prowess, but she pleasantly surprised most viewers. It may not have been the best SNL live, but it absolutely was not the worst… Elon Musk we are looking at you.

Manny did not have any excuses as to why he lost afterward. He just apologized to his country people and that he gave it his all in this fight. If this was his last fight, he will be remembered as one of the people who went from becoming poor to one of the richest men in the country. He certainly earned every bit of what he was achieving right now and he can’t wait to show it all off. He captured lots of titles over his career.

Ugas connected on many of his punches against the Philippine Senator. As usual, Pacquiao is considering retirement after another devastating loss. He is set financially anyway so the only thing allowing him to go back to being a boxer is his love for the sport. It is believed that Pacquiao would shift his focus to running for the president of his country in the upcoming May elections. Due to his popularity, he is expected to be one of the favorites if ever he does decide to run. He said he will make an announcement next month with regards to his political plans. Manny looked every bit like his 42-year-old self and he was not young by any means. He was far from the boxer who changed the face of the sport. As a matter of fact, he has been deemed the heavy favorite here just like he was in each of his fights except the match against Floyd Mayweather Jr. Needless to say, Ugas shocked the world and it is doubtful there is going to be a rematch in the near future. Until then, Manny looks to be really focused on bringing down the corrupt government officials in his country. He even got into many arguments with the President when he stated that he thinks the pandemic funds are just going to their pocket. Obviously, the only way to handle that would be to run for the office yourself and see if you can take it to the next level with the top position of the country. Promoting a film in Hollywood is a real hard hustle, but Dannon Green did just that. No only that he brought some heavy weights for big support. Dannon Green, is a true story of two men who opened a boxing gym in early 1970’s Philadelphia to give neighborhood kids an alternative to joining street gangs. The gym produced several dominant amateur fighters and saved countless lives by keeping these young boys off the street. The Executioners We All Had A Chanceis currently available free and on-demand on Tubi TV. The two men that started the executioner gym, Marvin “Toochie” Gordon and Frank Taylor lived to serve the community. They understood that young Black men living in the inner-city did not have many options.

Utilizing sport, and more specifically boxing, became a way of life for this self-proclaimed family. Starting the gym in 1974, they went 639-84 over the next ten years.

The film highlighted the importance of boxing in the inner-cities as well. Giving young Black men an outlet as opposed to what could come when exposed to hard street life.

The Executioners We All Had A Chance shows the tough reality of inner-city life with the story of Carmen Woods, a boxer with The Executioner gym who ended up with the wrong crowd. He has now been in prison for 37 years for a murder that he says he did not commit.

The film also shows the parallel to the unfortunate. Mike Wells, a young boxer for the gym, was spotted by Taylor while stealing. The mentor convinced Wells to come back to the gym on Saturday and train. Wells is a minister now and credits that day to the change in his life.

Dannon Green did a great job paying homage to the legendary gym, but the story-telling was hard to follow. Throughout the hour and a half film, Green, the narrator, mentioned 20-50 fighters. Yet, he only completed six of their stories.

I understand the point of The Executioners We All Had A Chance. Green wanted to pay respect to the boxing gym that trained him, but the delivery was borderline chaotic. He would mention something off-handedly, then five minutes would go by before he explained his point with a different interviewer.

There were times he would change the topic from Philadelphia and talk about the decline in amateur boxing, then switch back. Mention a fighter and how great he was, then change topics. Introduce a new speaker and only tell the audience his name with a picture from the 80s.
