On Sunday night (May 23), Drake accepted Billboard‘s Artist of the Decade Award at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards.
Honored at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, Drake’s OVO team, along with his parents, presented him with the prestigious award. His manager, Future the Prince, had glowing praise for the self-proclaimed 6 God, labeling him as “the most kind, selfless, generous person we know.”
After viewers watched a montage highlighting his lofty achievements, Drake sauntered onstage with his son Adonis by his side. He presented him the award and then humbly discussed his journey to greatness.

“I’m really self-conscious about my music, and even if I do a good job, I always wonder how I could have done it better,” he said. “I rarely ever celebrate anything. And just for anyone watching this wondering how this happened, that’s really the answer — it’s being so unsure how you’re getting it done that you just kinda keep going in the hopes of figuring out the formula.”
He added: “I know I’ve spent an incalculable amount of hours trying to analyze all the things that I’ve did wrong, but tonight for once, I’m sure as hell we did something right.”
Headlined by his nine No. 1s on the Billboard 200, with his latest coming in 2019 (Care Package), Drake’s dominance began in 2010 with his debut album Thank Me Later. On the Hot 100 side, he banked six No. 1s during that span and shattered a bevy of chart records, including the most Hot 100 top 10s (45, to-date) and overall entries (232). Drake’s supremacy earned him the crown on Billboard’s Top Artists of the 2010s chart.
Shortly after accepting his Artist of the Decade Award at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards, Drake threw himself a major after-party surrounded by his father, son Adonis and friends.
Renting out the 70,000 capacity SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, the Canadian artist hosted a dinner party on the 50-yard line to mark his achievement. Aside from having his name and “Artist of the Decade” plastered on the massive screen inside the stadium, champagne towers and bars were set up throughout the entire stadium. Drake reportedly made his way to the venue after dining at The Nice Guy and took in a massive light show set to “Toosie Slide.” Other artists that made it to the event included the likes of Chris Brown, DJ Khaled, Doja Cat, SZA and The Weeknd.

]]>It is beyond safe to say that 2017
belongs to none other than New
York’s own Cardi B. Both her
work ethic and credentials prove
her a force to be reckoned with.
While she has been busy at work
with two mixtapes now under her
belt, the charismatic wonder has
already struck gold extremely
early in her career. The insanely
contagious “Bodak Yellow,”
released earlier in the summer,
remains unbothered on the
Billboard Hot 100 charts for a
third week!

On Monday (Sept 25), the rising
star became the first female rapper
in nearly over two decades to top
the Billboard Hot 100 charts
without a feature on her “Bodak

Yellow” single; This feat has not been done by anyone else other than the iconic Lauryn Hill
with the soulful yet relevant hit, “Doo Wop (That Thing),” in 1998.
Let’s be completely honest, since the song’s conception in the summer, listeners cannot help but
sing excitedly along to the tune. This song literally swept the nation by storm in only a matter of
mere months. The moment you hear that beat drop, Cardi’s voice, and the words, “Said, “Lil
B**** you can’t f*** wit me, if you wanted to”,” the mood instantly changes, listeners get
pumped to the max and the party atmosphere is set.
Now in October, the song is literally the biggest record in the country according the Billboard
Hot 100 charts. According to “chart data” the Bronx beauty’s “Bodak Yellow” continues to
proudly hold the number 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 charts for a third week in a row! Chart
data shared the news with the world on Monday, (Oct. 9) through its Twitter platform.

Along with the recent news of the song’s three week run at the top, chart data also tweeted that
“Bodak Yellow” is in a tie with Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” as both tracks
are the “longest running female Hot 100 #1 of 2017.” If that is not enough, Chart Data also
shared that “Bodak Yellow” is actually now, “the longest running solo female rap #1 in Hot 100
history.” DJ Hustle
The good news simply continues as the banger has already attained platinum status! Whether
anyone likes it or not, feels that she does or does not deserve the recognition, Cardi is here to
stay and shut the doubters and haters all the way up. She already has made her presence known
with blazing records stemming from her previous mixtapes such as, “Foreva,” “Pull Up,” and
“Lick,” featuring her new love interest, 1/3 of Hip-Hop group Migos, rapper Offset.
The former Love and Hip-Hop reality star literally shows no sign of slowing down and fans are
completely here for this energy! Some may ask, “what’s next” for the New York native. The
grind does not end there as she also features on yet another club banger out with the talented G-
Eazy and the forever cozy, A$AP Rocky entitled, “No Limit.”
She also has been hard at work prepping her debut album for listeners and fan base, which she
calls her “Bardi Gang. While the project’s arrival has been pushed back from its original
expected release of this month, music enthusiasts, trap lovers, and fans alike can expect new
content from her very soon!
Congratulations on yet another significant mark in the music industry Cardi!
