It is evident they missed Dwight Howard last year. Andre Drummond did not give them what they were expecting and as a result, he was benched for their game 6 season-ending loss to the Phoenix Suns. A lot of skeptics are wondering if Russell Westbrook can fit with Lebron and AD. The truth is these are professional basketball players and if they want to make it work then they can do it. They would not mind adjusting their games in order to make it better for the new players to feel a bit comfortable playing their game. The Los Angeles Lakers will look to rest their aging stars throughout the regular season in order to keep them energized for the playoffs when the games truly matter. Laker fans had to say goodbye to fan-favorite Alex Caruso though as he chose to sign with the Chicago Bulls. Shohei Ohtani, the starting pitcher for the AL, hurled a flawless first inning, while Vladimir Guerrero Jr. provided fireworks later on with 468-foot home run shot into the bleacher seats, earning him the game MVP. The National League had numerous opportunities to catch up, but got only one run after loading the bases in the sixth inning, and leaving several runners stranded later on.

Ohtani was the first player to ever both start an All-Star Game as a pitcher and be a designated hitter. It was also the first time a single player both pitched and batted in the Midsummer Classic since the late Roy Halladay did it in back in 2009.

Five Red Sox players went to the All-Star Game, the most in all of MLB. Pitcher Nathan Eovaldi kept things scoreless in the fourth inning, while JD Martinez, Rafael Devers and Xander Bogaerts produced a collective 3 for 7, including a double and an RBI. 

Closer Matt Barnes got into bases-loaded trouble in the eighth inning but got out of it when Cubs’ third baseman Kris Bryant lined out, keeping the inning scoreless.

Tuesday’s game also saw the catchers from each league hit opposite-field homers for the first time since 1997. Both were solo shots from the Rays’ Mike Zunino and the Phillies’ J.T. Realmuto. Additionally, Realmuto’s home run was the first hit by a Philly in the ASG since Mike Schmidt in 1981.

Even though he was playing out of position in left field, Angels’ first baseman Jared Walsh made a dramatic sliding catch to prevent Kris Bryant from getting a hit in the eighth inning. If the ball had gotten past him, it could have been a history making inside-the-park grand slam and given the NL the lead.

The National League has not won the All-Star Game since 2012.

A review of Disney+’s Raya and the Last Dragon has been difficult to write. Not because there is so much wrong or right with it that I just can’t figure out where to begin, but because it is a decent movie. And that is sorta where my thoughts always end.

Raya and the Last Dragon is set long ago in the mythical land of Kumandra, where humans lived in peace and harmony with magical dragons of all types: water dragons, air dragons, etc. With the graceful and wise dragons as their guardians, the humans did not fear each other and had no need for war, or even borders. That is, until the evil sprits known as the Druun invaded and began to turn everyone, human and dragon alike, into stone. The dragons sacrificed themselves to defeat the Druun, and gave their essence to mankind in the form of a glowing orb to keep the demons gone forever. However, centuries later, human greed broke up the orb into four pieces, inadvertently unleashing the Druun on the world once again.

The titular Raya (Kelly Marie Tran) is a princess of one of humanity’s tribes, who travels the world on her giant rolling beast Tuk Tuk (Alan Tudyk). She is determined to recollect the orb’s pieces and save her father, Chief Benja (Daniel Dae Kim), from his petrification. On her journeys across Kumandra, Raya manages to resurrect a dragon of legend named Sisu (Awkwafina), who isn’t exactly as powerful as the stories about her said. All the while, our hero is being hunted by her fearsome nemesis Namaari (Gemma Chan) who wants the orb’s power for her own tribe’s benefit.

All of this information is given to us in the first act, and I did not even mention the lengthy sequence where Namaari and Raya’s backstories are explored. That is biggest issue that the movie has: pacing. There are fun characters with lively performances from their respective talents (Awkwafina is a definite highlight), but I never felt like the movie gave enough time to enjoy them. Some other adventurers that Raya later recruits, like Benedict Wong’s warrior Tong, end up feeling like they were simply tacked on.

Raya and the Last Dragon has breathtaking scenery, fun action, and great performances, but due to pacing issues these elements do not add up to a truly memorable experience. But it is a decent one.

HustleTV said it best when Gervonta Davis completely demolished Mario Barrios in their boxing match at the Statefarm Arena. Believe it or not, it was the first loss of Mario Barrios and both boxers came out with a huge effort right from when the bell rang. As a matter of fact, Davis knocked out Barrios temporarily with two nice punches at the 8th round. Just when he thought he had things going his way, he actually lost the next round. After that, retired boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. told him that he is actually losing in the judges’ scores. He took that into heart and delivered the finishing blow to his opponent right in the 11th round. it is one of those boxing matches that will get talked about for a pretty long time. As a matter of fact, most viewers saw it as pretty exciting even those who don’t really watch boxing too often. It will be talked about for quite a long time and it goes to show how these boxers earn a lot of money. They entertain the audience a lot which is why arenas usually get sold out for nice boxing matches such as this. The promoter definitely decided a good thing when he thought it would be such a good idea to put it right down to where it is supposed to go. Besides, it would be in their right mind to put up a fight that a lot of people would love to see so that a lot of people would be watching on pay per view. That would surely happen if both fighters are evenly matched and they barely have a loss on their record. 

4x World Champion Gervonta Davis TKO Mario Barrios

With the victory, HustleTV reports that Gervonta Davis becomes the new WBA Junior Welterweight champion and he says it is an honor to be mentioned alongside some of the sport’s all time greats. He knows he has a long way to go before becoming deemed as an all time great. He says he will continue to put the work in order to become such a respectable legend in this business. At first, that is hard to do considering the amount of critics watching your every move. In the end, you just need to come in the fight and give it everything you got and that is exactly what both fighters did and the best fighter certainly won. That was no surprise because a boxing match is not only about skill as it is also about analyzing your opponent in the middle of the game. The analysts over at HustleTV were right in telling everyone about the strengths and weaknesses of each fighter and they were on point. It was not long before both fighters took advantage of each other’s weakness which is why it went to the 11th round before someone lost. It remains to be seen whether or not there will be a rematch between these two fighters and you can bet Mario Barrios will be more ready.

Megan posed alongside Pardison, making their red carpet debut as a couple on the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards Thursday night. Megan wore a gold, sequined mini dress that featured cut-out detailing, while Pardison matched his lady in a gold-toned jacket and pant set.

The couple were as cute as can be as they embraced on the red carpet, later posing for photos inside the event, where they were all smiles.

Megan, who led the pack with eight nominations at Thursday night’s show, took home the trophy for Best Collaboration for her song, “Savage” which features Beyoncé.

The 26-year-old rapper celebrated her win by blowing kisses at the award as she posed for photos backstage at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.

In her acceptance speech, an excited Megan thanked the “hotties” for honoring her with the award.
