He recognizes his fault by saying that he should have told them before and that better communication could have managed this situation in a nicer way and could have turned it on a peaceful side avoiding these protests and judgment. He also added that right now there is a huge gap regarding internal communication and all of this happened just in a few days as he did not choose to communicate before.

Even if some of the people can say that being a comedian means to actually say jokes and not be serious about that. the employees and others agreed that what has been said in a comedy show has a real impact on the world and people who are doing this should assume their role without hurting anyone and without bringing these sensitive topics into discussion. The fact that these jokes were made towards the LGBT+ community had even a bigger impact since these people feel harm and judgment every day.

After these protests, people and Netflix’s employees are asking to bring more trans people into TV shows and put them in a better light especially after this big controversy that just happened. Besides all of this, some employees were fired after they shared confidential information about specials with Bloomberg. This is unacceptable from Netflix company’s perspective no matter how hurt some people might feel, trust is the key and it has to be kept inside this company.

People might have a different opinion about this controversy, supporting one or another side in this story. Using words against vulnerable persons might come with huge responsibility and this has to be managed well afterwords. As COVID-19 cases continue to spike across the United States, Gov. Gavin Newsom announced that he will be issuing a stay at home order with a curfew attached for a ‘limited’ time on Thursday afternoon.

Starting this Saturday night, non-essential work, movement and gatherings will be prohibited between the hours of 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily, according to a news release from the governor’s office. The order will last a month and is set to expire at 5 a.m. on Dec. 21, but it could be extended as needed.

The order will impact all counties in the most-restrictive purple tier, which includes everyone in Southern California.

“The virus is spreading at a pace we haven’t seen since the start of this pandemic and the next several days and weeks will be critical to stop the surge. We are sounding the alarm,” Newsom said in the release. “It is crucial that we act to decrease transmission and slow hospitalizations before the death count surges. We’ve done it before and we must do it again.”

This lockdown is more so targeted rather than the first lockdown in March of this year; which was an around the clock lockdown.

This lockdown is limited to late-night and overnight hours because that’s often when people are more likely to engage in social activities and gatherings that could lead to an increased risk of transmission, the release explained. 

Under this new order, non-essential businesses must close by curfew. Essential businesses may keep their regular store hours such as grocery stores, liquor stores and food places.

In an afternoon news briefing, California Health and Human Services Secretary Dr. Mark Ghaly credited the order back in March in keeping the number of cases down at the beginning of the pandemic.

“We saw its impact back in March, those difficult days adjusting to the reality of COVID. But that kept us ahead of the curve,” he said. “And just like then, today’s actions will help us bring down transmission and flatten our curve, this time in a very important and urgent way.”

California on Thursday reported 11,478 new cases of coronavirus over the previous 24 hours, the state’s highest single-day number to date during the pandemic. The seven-day average has ticked upwards to 9,665, according to Ghaly.

The state’s testing positivity rate has also increased at a concerning rate, nearly doubling to 5% over the past 14 days in just a few weeks, Ghaly said.

Without the new and enhanced measures, officials said they fear there will be an “unprecedented surge” in hospitalizations if COVID-19 cases continue to rise sharply, something that could overrun the state’s health care system.

The Olympics will take place in Los Angeles California, for the first time since 1984.  The United States has been trying to host the summer games again since the late 90s games in Atlanta Georgia.  Los Angeles lost the bid to the 2024 Olympic games to Paris France, but as the old saying goes good things come to those who wait.

“It has been certainly a roller coaster,” L.A. bid chairman Casey Wasserman told The Times, adding that IOC officials “showed a real willingness to be thoughtful and creative.”

L.A.’S bid committee has estimated it would cost $5.3 billion to stage the Games and has predicted it can track all expenses through revenues such as sponsorships and ticket sales.

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, who was at the forefront of spearheading the city’s effort, said the terms of Monday’s agreement should outweigh any increased uncertainty that comes with committing to a major event more than a decade in advance.

The IOC has predicted it will chip in $1.7 billion of its broadcast and sponsorship revenues to Paris in 2024.

Its contribution could rise to at least $2 billion by 2028 because of adjustments to the amount of sponsorship money L.A. would receive for the summer games.
