Regarding its employees, Netflix once again said that they appreciate every human being and its decision, and even the ones who walked out have the right to make the best decision for them and they have nothing against them. He recognizes his fault by saying that he should have told them before and that better communication could have managed this situation in a nicer way and could have turned it on a peaceful side avoiding these protests and judgment. He also added that right now there is a huge gap regarding internal communication and all of this happened just in a few days as he did not choose to communicate before.

Even if some of the people can say that being a comedian means to actually say jokes and not be serious about that. the employees and others agreed that what has been said in a comedy show has a real impact on the world and people who are doing this should assume their role without hurting anyone and without bringing these sensitive topics into discussion. The fact that these jokes were made towards the LGBT+ community had even a bigger impact since these people feel harm and judgment every day.

After these protests, people and Netflix’s employees are asking to bring more trans people into TV shows and put them in a better light especially after this big controversy that just happened. Besides all of this, some employees were fired after they shared confidential information about specials with Bloomberg. This is unacceptable from Netflix company’s perspective no matter how hurt some people might feel, trust is the key and it has to be kept inside this company.

People might have a different opinion about this controversy, supporting one or another side in this story. Using words against vulnerable persons might come with huge responsibility and this has to be managed well afterwords. Later that night, my brother, my dad, and I fell in love with the British horror-comedy’s obscene bloodshed and constant profanity, while Mom had horrified flashbacks to when my grandma took her at a young age to see what was supposed to be just another cheesy gangster movie: Scarface.

While on a mission in the Middle East, French soldier Klara (Olga Kurylenko) witnesses a young boy, egged on by his own father, detonate a suicide vest. Her team is killed and Klara is thrown to the ground, clearly physically and emotionally shaken. The thing is, you cannot take any of it seriously; nobody could have missed that trap. The bomb vest was not at all small, but a whole contraption covering the kid’s torso. We just saw the boy and his father apprehended moments before, surrounded by soldiers. The boy did not look bulky? Immediately before the kid detonates the vest, he was being patted down. A trained soldier didn’t feel it? Plus, the USB stick-sized detonator was in his hand. Nobody saw that he was holding anything? These types of bizarre oversights will occur again and again in Netflix’s latest thriller, Sentinelle. 

Netflix’s Sentinelle Can’t Spot Its Own Red Flags

Due to the overwhelming stress Klara now suffers, she is transferred back to Paris to serve in “Operation Sentinel,” a counter-terrorism unit of the French army that exclusively patrols areas with heavy civilian foot-traffic. Klara finds dealing with tourists difficult, begins to behave increasingly paranoid and becomes addicted to drugs. Her younger sister Tania (Marilyn Lima) Klara takes out to a local nightclub to blow off some steam, but while Klara is away on a one-night-stand, Tania is brutally assaulted and sent into a coma. Klara takes it upon herself to enact revenge.

What should be a serious meditation on violence and how it affects us is always betrayed by bizarre choices. Nobody ever questions if Klara is sane. What should clearly be a red flag to her new squad, like needlessly aiming a gun at civilians, trying to drown a suspect, and just generally leaving formation and wandering off by herself, is never anything of true concern to anybody. Even after her weapon is finally confiscated, she somehow is still allowed back into the armory. 

Netflix’s Sentinelle Can’t Spot Its Own Red Flags

The cinematography is pretty, but it doesn’t mean much: Why is Klara standing outside her sister’s hospital room when the door is open and no one is in there? Oh, so she can look cool and stare into the window past bar-like blinds.  Vigilante movies work the best when everyone around the protagonist realizes just how far off the deep end they’ve gone. Sentinelle simply never acknowledges it.

In Netflix’s new dark comedy I Care a Lot, Rosamund Pike stars as Maria Grayson, a highly successful legal guardian who looks after elderly clients and takes control of their estate when they can no longer legally take care of themselves. The problem is, every single one of her clients is absolutely still mentally and physically capable. Grayson is a con woman, in cahoots with a local doctor (Alicia Watt), who identifies potential marks and embellishes their conditions, and a nursing home manager (Damian Young), who puts Grayson’s clients in prison-like isolation. Their scheme always went off without a hitch, until they met sweet little Jennifer Peterson (Diane Weist), a wealthy ex-banker with no known relations and millions of dollars in diamonds in a safe deposit box. After she is put away, a mysterious crime lord (Peter Dinklage) who calls himself Jennifer’s son goes on a rampage against Grayson and her assistant/lover Fran (Eiza González) to get the old woman out.

Rosamund Pike fits right into her role as an icy manipulator (see her previous work in Gone Girl), and is able to carefully balance the right amount of charisma and menace to play against Peter Dinklage’s seething anger. The two criminals are truly despicable people, and you never truly root for either to win, but you never truly hate Grayson more than her rival either.  Dinklage’s character is mentioned to be a human trafficker, immediately giving Grayson at least a little righteousness in her violence. But don’t worry, she doesn’t gets enough of her just desserts throughout the movie. 

The cinematography is a nice compliment to Grayson’s deliberate scheming, frequently staying very, very still, letting us just wait for the “lioness” (as she calls herself) to pounce. There’s also some delightfully weird and twisted visuals, like staring down our protagonist’s throat at a dentist, or getting a bird’s-eye-view of naked man lying unconscious on a wooded road.I Care a Lot is a solid crime dramedy that knows the strengths of its performers and revels in the audience’s conflicted feelings on its characters’ natures.
