The California rap legends — Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg from Los Angeles area, Too $hort and E-40 from Oakland — delivered a 20-minute performance that boasted each rappers’ solo hits  — like “It Was a Good Day” and “Gin & Juice” — and concluded with the debut of Mt. Westmore’s upcoming first single together, “Big Subwoofer.”

The Mt. Westmore project was first teased earlier this year when Ice Cube released his solo single “Trying to Maintain,” noting that he was “still finishing up that Mt. Westmore album…”

Too Short added of the supergroup in an interview, “So I get a call during the early part of the quarantine from E-40 and Ice Cube going, ‘Man, we feel like we should do an album… And I’m like… E-40 and Too $hort are from the Bay, Snoop Dogg and Cube are from L.A. and we are like the West Coast foundation.’ We sat there and was like, ‘Fuck it, let’s do it.’ So, we start coming up with beats.”

The four rappers reportedly recorded 50 songs together — with Dr. Dre also involved in some capacity, Too $hort said — with the supergroup’s first album due out within the next few months, followed by more “volumes” of music.

1) Barbra , please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?

I got to where I am today through a lot of hard work. I had to put in a lot of work to learn the industry and make myself known as a professional. In the early stages, we didn’t have social media, so I had to go out to make new contacts and network. I would have to attend multiple events per day. It was definitely trying, but it comes with great rewards. I have clients who are more than that; they’re family.

2) Has it been a smooth road being an entrepreneur and a Latina in the world of public relations? 

No, I would not say it’s been a smooth road. For one, as an entrepreneur, you’re already faced with challenges. You have to work harder to make things happen. As a Latina, I found myself having to prove myself for deals and clients. There was this stigma of if you didn’t look or talk a certain way, then you’re not good enough for certain clients or events. I just let my work and track record speak for itself.

3) As a social activist, tell our reader what you support?

I support any cause that fights for the injustice of others. I am huge in domestic violence advocacy. As a survivor myself, I want to do whatever I can to end the dangerous cycle. I’ve worked with The Bella Foundation to become that difference in someone’s life and letting them know you can leave your current situation and have my support. I support The United Farm Workers too. The farmworkers are out here in the valley, working hard to provide for their families, and they need more appreciation in that field. I support Black Lives Matter and will continue to fight for equality for all. Voter rights are important and everyone register to vote in this upcoming election.

4) Who has played a meaningful role in your life?

My children Jacob and Allen play a meaningful role in my life. Everything I do, every long night is for them. I want them to have a better life than I did. My parents are also big in my life. They’ve been there for me through all of my failures and successes. 

5) What else should our readers know about you?

The readers should know that I have compassion and support for everyone. I believe that everyone can succeed. If I can do it, you can. There’s enough for everyone to eat from the same table. 

6) What advice would you give a young activist? 

Empower and inspire others. You have the key in your hand, take it and continue to unlock new paths. Never give up. There will be people in your ear or your face that will try to knock you down or stop your journey, but keep going. Those are the very people we’re here to change. You got this.

7) Walk us through the daily life of a PR when you first start with a new client? 

First, there’s a phone call to screen if it’s someone I want to accept as a client. I keep my client list very exclusive. After the screening, we create a PR proposal and budget for the client, depending on their wants and needs. Once everything is good and the client agrees, we draft the contract. Once we close the contract, I assign the client to different team members’ attention.

August 15, 1985, a legend was born. Ermias Joseph Asghedom, known professionally as Nipsey
Hussle, would have been celebrating his 35th birthday today.
Killed by the hands of a man who was and still is uncomfortable with his own reality, Nipsey
Hussle left this earth way too soon.

It has been 16 months since his death. He left behind friends, family, fans and most importantly;
he left behind his legacy.
His peers, close friends, collaborators in the hip-hop industry, family and his beautiful girlfriend,
Lauren London, also showed love as they remembered their late friend.
Lauren London posted the following on her Instagram today:
“King Ermias Best friend Twin Flame Greatest Teacher Beautiful Strong Vessel The Spiritual
Giant that walked Earth,” London described her beloved partner on Saturday. “‘I Miss You’ will
never be deep enough for the void left in my soul. Yet, I know you walk with me- always still.


Happy 35th Eternally Yours, Boogie.”
Snoop Dogg, west coast and Long Beach legend, also shared a photo of himself and Nipsey with
the caption,”Miss u loco 🏁🙏🏽😥,”
On Twitter, Rick Ross showed respect for Hussle in a series of tweets. “Perfect time to shine,” he
wrote, adding, “Marathon continues…” and finally posting the rapper’s name with a dove emoji
next to it.

Rapper YG also paid tribute to Hussle writing on Instagram, “Happy Cday Loc. Talk to me foo.
We miss you everyday.” He finished the caption with multiple red and blue hearts.
These were not even half of the birthday wishes and condolences shown today. Hundreds and
thousands of friends and fans all over the world showed respect to Hussle on his special day.
His passing has been hard on many people. He paved the way for a lot of young men just like
him while also getting people through tough times of their own.

Hussle wasn’t just a rapper. He was a motivator, a mentor, an entrepreneur, a friend, a father, an
uncle, a brother, a companion. Killed by the hands of a coward holding a gun.
It’s different when you do the things you rap/talk about and when you came up from nothing and
got it on your own. Nipsey was a perfect example of being a man of his word.


Hussle will be in history books. He considered himself “the Tupac of my generation,” and no one
disagreed with him. His music continues to uplift and empower.
Today, we celebrate the late Nip Hussle Tha Great. He is forever missed and will never be

Snoop Dogg doesn’t age he makes his intentions known, highlighting the emergence of black millionaires and their dominant role in shaping American culture. “Don’t pretend like I’m with that bullshit your president been tweeting,” raps Snoop, “them black boys is ballin’ out the whole block is eatin’.” Snoop shouts out the Negro league and Colin Kaepernick before encouraging young black entrepreneurs to go out and get that money. It’s interesting to see Snoop embrace his OG status, and take his music in a more socially conscious direction. Despite that, Snoop claims in a statement that this project isn’t a “political thing,” but simply good music:
