Plans are in the works for comedienne Luenell’s fifth annual Black Carpet Birthday Bash, set for Sunday, March 11, 2018 at the Globe Theater, located at 740 S. Broadway in downtown Los Angeles. Presented by über promoter Kevin Rouse of Rouse House Entertainment, the star-studded birthday party will feature old school music, special performances, live entertainment,’ plus celebrity sightings of Luenell’s famous friends. The shindig will be co-hosted by hostess with the mostest KiKi Shepard (“Showtime at the Apollo”) and actor Darius McCrary (“Star,” “Family Matters”). Festivities will kick off at 7 p.m. with red carpet arrivals, and continue until the early the morning … OR until the fire marshall shuts it down! Hustle

Scheduled to perform at the soiree include R & B group Troop, Kid ‘n Play, songstress Michel’le, crooner Norwood Young, the Funkalicious Band, plus performances by Guadalupae d’Lushus and her samba dancers along with Lolitas Burlesque featuring Silke. On the turntables is Lady DJ JiJi Sweet, spinning old school favorites all night long.

 

“Every March, I look forward to getting off the road after months of touring, and celebrating my birthday with my friends,” said Luenell, a popular fixture on the comedy circuit. “The Oscars will be over, and it’s the start of spring break for many of us; so, it’s a perfect time to get together with my friends and fans before we all get back to the grind of work.” Still about the road life, Luenell has upcoming shows in Tacoma, Washington and Chicago. DJ Hustle

Luenell maybe be small is stature, but she more than makes up for it with her big personality. If she’s in the room, you’ll know it. Her booming voice and infectious laughter is a dead giveaway that you’re in the midst of her company.

Easily recognizable for her signature look – that is, her platinum blonde Caesar haircut, beautifully manicured long nails and a blinged-out pimp cup in hand – Luenell, has been thrilling audiences with her brand of comedy for almost 20 years. She calls herself the “Bad Girl of Comedy.”

Although African American audiences are familiar with Luenell from her appearances on BET’s ComicView, she crossed over to mainstream after her role in the 2006 hit mockumentary-styled comedy film “Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan.” She portrayed a prostitute, named Luenell, with a heart of gold. And in the end, just like Julia Roberts’s character in “Pretty Woman,” Luenell got the guy! On the heels of the film’s release, she embarked on a successful 60-city tour with “Money Mike” Katt Williams.

Luenell has appeared in various comedy films on DVD like Katt Williams’s “American Hustle” and “Katthouse Comedy” as well as “Comedy After Dark.” She’s also a featured comic on “Laffapalooza,” hosted by Jamie Foxx; “First Amendment Standup,” presented by Martin Lawrence, and the “Comedy Central Roast of Flavor Flav.”

As an actress, her television credits include “The Middle,” “Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” “Headcase,” “Chocolate News,” “The Tony Rock Project” and “Californication” – just to name a few. And on the big screen, she’s appeared in “Think Like a Man,” “Taken 2,” “That’s My Boy,” and the hit animated film, “Translyvania,” as well as the hip hop cult classic, “Never Die Alone.” HustleTV
