A black superhero, a warrior, a man who has played revolutionary black roles and has put on for the black community; Chadwick Boseman, transitioned on Saturday.

Boseman’s cause of death was colon cancer. It was stated that he had been diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016, and it progressed to stage IV over the years.

He passed away in his home, with his wife and family by his side according to a statement posted on his Twitter account; which has also become the most liked tweet in history.

“A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you so many of the films you have come to love so much,” the statement said.

“From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and several more, all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy.”

With his role as King T’Challa in the boundary-breaking film “Black Panther,” he became a global icon and an inspiring symbol of Black power. That role was the “honor of (Boseman’s) career,” the statement said.

Much of the world did not know Boseman was battling cancer. And that’s what makes him a real superhero. As a celebrity, it is very hard to keep certain parts of your life private without the rest of the world invading your space; but Boseman did a very good job at keeping the most important parts of his life to himself.

Many months ago, Boseman posted a picture of himself and he appeared to look incredibly skinny and slightly ill. Many of his fans became worrisome, some thought he was preparing for a movie role and others made jokes and memes about his appearance.

This is an example for all people to always be humble and kind. Everyone is fighting a silent battle that no one knows about. This also tells people to not point their noses in other people’s business if it does not pertain to them.

He was a superhero to many. To family, to friends, to strangers, to the little black boys; everyone.

Boseman “brought history to life” with his roles, Martin Luther King III said.

“As Black Panther, he was also a superhero to many,” he wrote on Twitter. “And despite his 4 year long battle with cancer, he kept fighting and he kept inspiring. He will be missed.”

Boseman did more than just play a role in “Black Panther.” He gave the little black boys and the black community hope. Hope that movies can be filled with strong black actors, hope that superheros can be black. Releasing a true statement that there is no limit for the black community, we can do anything everyone else can do.

The NAACP also paid tribute to the actor, saying Boseman showed “us how to conquer adversity with grace.”

Sen. Kamala Harris, who also attended Howard, said she was heartbroken over Boseman’s death.

“My friend and fellow Bison Chadwick Boseman was brilliant, kind, learned, and humble,” she tweeted. “He left too early but his life made a difference. Sending my sincere condolences to his family.”

Director of the Black Panther film, Ryan Coogler, also spoke out and released a very warming and heartfelt statement in remembrance of Chadwick Boseman.

The world is still grieving. It has only been two days since Boseman’s transition and the world is truly in shock by his sudden death. Tributes from family, friends, fans and peers continue to take place.

His family asks that you respect their privacy and give them the time they need to grieve his passing. HustleTV we love our black hero’s
