The 2020 NBA playoffs Are In Full Effect

Written By Comedian Dannon Green

The 2020 NBA playoffs are in full effect and what pleasant surprises they have been so far.  We are now into the conference finals, where we have Boston Celtics vs the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference and the Los Angeles Lakers vs the Denver Nuggets in the Western conference.  This isn’t exactly who the experts said the two teams out West would come down to in the beginning of the year.   Their prediction and hope of a Lakers vs Clippers final were thrown into the trash when the Denver Nuggets decided to crash the party and defeat the Clippers to change the entire narrative of the NBA playoffs and NBA history.

When the season started the Los Angeles Clippers were considered to be the number one team in the NBA after acquiring the current MVP of the 2019 NBA finals and world champion Toronto Raptors, and the player  considered by most to be the best in the world in Kawhi Leonard.  The Clippers who haven’t been in the conference finals in 50 years was the team that everyone felt would take it all this year.  These feelings and predictions all came about when they acquired Leonard, Paul George and other top free agents.  These acquired players would make the experts believe that the Western Conference would come down to again to the Lakers and Lebron James vs Los Angeles Clippers and Kawhi, with the Clippers being the team to come out on top.

As we know Covid19 caused a break in the 2020 NBA season for 4 months, to only return in the bubble down in Disney World in Orlando, Florida.  After 22 regular season games and 2 playoff rounds and no hope of court advantage for any team, we are now down to the last four teams and who will represent their conference in the NBA finals.  We have Celtics vs Heat in the East and the Lakers vs Nuggets in the West.

In the Eastern conference Miami led by Jimmy Butler is up 2 -1 in their series and the Lakers are up 2 – 0 against the Denver Nuggets, and yes I did say the Denver Nuggets.  As I mentioned earlier the Denver Nuggets change the narrative of the NBA playoffs and probably the history of the NBA.  Down 3 -1 to the Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Clippers the Nuggets made NBA history by coming back from two straight 3 – 1 deficits.

So currently the Miami Heat are up 2 – 1 over Boston and the Lakers are up 2 – 0 after Anthony Davis game winning three point last second shot to win game two Sunday night. We are now going into the second week of the conference finals and we will soon see what two teams will come out to play for the NBA Championship.  Please stay tuned. I believe we are in for some amazing basketball this coming week.
