Justice For Breonna Taylor
Written By Zaina Cummins
A former police detective was indicted Wednesday on felony charges of wanton endangerment after shooting into an apartment next door to Breonna Taylor, 26, an EMT who was killed in her home by police.
Brett Hankison, who was fired in June, faces three felony counts, and bail was set at $15,000. A warrant was issued for his arrest and he was booked at the Shelby County Detention Center and released about half an hour later, the jail confirmed.

Two other officers involved in the shooting, Sgt. Jonathan Mattingly and Detective Myles Cosgrove, were justified in their use of force, state Attorney General Daniel Cameron said at a news conference. All three fired their weapons at Taylor’s apartment.
A wanton endangerment charge is a class D felony and could carry a penalty of one to five years in prison.
The charges read by Judge Annie O’Connell on Wednesday said Hankison “wantonly shot a gun” into adjoining Apartment 3. The occupants of that apartment were identified by initials. None of them was BT – Breonna Taylor.
Cases like this lead to frustration. The demand for justice has been prolonged. From protest, to looting, to rioting, everything has been done for the black lives lost from police brutality; and that seems to still not be enough.

The world is in shambles. The news has directed their focus away from the Black Lives Matter movement to make it seem as if these things are not happening when in reality; they never stopped.
The injustice for Breonna Taylor has been a continuous cry for help. The people want answers and instead of giving them, they omit the truth and find various ways to shut the people up; hence taking away the news coverage.
Why is equal rights such a slippery slope in America? Why is being equal up for discussion? Being equal should be a given. What is it going to have to take?

The people are tired. And for as long as injustice amongst black lives continues, things will be destroyed, riots will never end, protests will carry on and the people will continue to fight and get their message across in whatever way they can.“The most disrespected person on earth is the black woman! I promise you i’ll do my best to change this as much as I can and even more!! Love to you queens all over this country andbeyond,” said Lebron James.
