Los Angeles Lakers Building A Championship Team

HustleTV is reporting that the Los Angeles Lakers have reshaped their roster to make another run at the NBA championship. They traded for Russell Westbrook and signed several players including Trevor Ariza, Carmelo Anthony, Malik Monk, Dwight Howards, and Kendrick Nunn. They now have a new big 3 of LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook. Experts now say the Lakers are the favorites to come out of the West. Of course, we all know injuries would play a huge factor in the playoffs and all these players must stay healthy. Some analysts say Anthony Davis is going to have an MVP caliber season next season. The Lakers are coming off a disappointing season where they were eliminated in the first round by the Phoenix Suns. The Lakers were actually leading the Suns 3-2 when Anthony Davis went down with an injury then the Suns won two straight in order to advance to the second round. Due to the condensed schedule, the season was marred with plenty of injuries. HustleTV DJ Hustle Los Angeles Lakers Building A Championship Team

Russell Westbrook is known to be very good friends with LeBron James and Anthony Davis. In fact, Westbrook has just passed Oscar Robertson for most career triple-doubles. He always fills up the stat sheet and the Lakers did a good job surrounding their new big 3 with a bunch of shooters like Wayne Ellington and Kendrick Nunn. They even brought back Talen Horton Tucker in a move that was widely expected as the rookie loved being a part of the Lakers rotation. Some say they gave up a lot for Westbrook though since they traded Kentavious Caldwell Pope, Montrezl Harrell, and Kyle Kuzma. Kuzma and KCP were their two best three-point shooters but past champions showed three-point shooting does not always win you championships. In fact, it is defense and they already have Davis who is one of the best one on one defenders in the league. We are looking at an entirely new Lakers team and only time will tell if they can successfully get to the championship battle.

It is evident they missed Dwight Howard last year. Andre Drummond did not give them what they were expecting and as a result, he was benched for their game 6 season-ending loss to the Phoenix Suns. A lot of skeptics are wondering if Russell Westbrook can fit with Lebron and AD. The truth is these are professional basketball players and if they want to make it work then they can do it. They would not mind adjusting their games in order to make it better for the new players to feel a bit comfortable playing their game. The Los Angeles Lakers will look to rest their aging stars throughout the regular season in order to keep them energized for the playoffs when the games truly matter. Laker fans had to say goodbye to fan-favorite Alex Caruso though as he chose to sign with the Chicago Bulls. His defense is going to be missed and it is possible the Lakers will look at the buyout market in March.
