Where no woman has gone before

Sonequa Chaunté Martin-Green, the lead character in the CBS All Access web-television series Star Trek: Discovery, is going where no woman has gone before! She is warping past stars into the unknown carrying a successful baggage of acting roles. Mrs. Martin-Green was born and raised in Russellville, Alabama. She graduated with a Theatre degree from the University of Alabama in 2007. In 2008, she made her television debut as Kiana Richmond on NBC’s Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
We know her as the recklessly fierce firefighter, Sasha Williams, who never misses a shot. Watching AMC’s, The Walking Dead, we feel her PTSD emotional state in a zombie filled world. Time will fail us if we go on to detail her impressive roles as “The Good Wife’s” ethically powerful paralegal Courtney Wells, “Once Upon A Time’s” subversive intellectual agent, Tamara, whose heart is crushed by Mr. Gold, or “New Girl’s” military woman, Rhonda, pranking for a husband.
The difference twelve years makes for an actress like her is astounding! Today, we impatiently wait to see her as Star Fleet Science Officer Michael
Burnham in a third thrilling season. In Season 1, we witness Burnham, a promising officer suffer a court-martial before mysteriously being welcomed aboard Starfleet’s secret vessel, the U.S.S. Discovery. We learn throughout the season she has Vulcan heritage as she leads the way to end the Klingon War.
In Season 2, we follow Burnham as she rescues her brother, Spock. The fact she is Spock’s sister is an exciting revelation of the season. The explosively incredible finale provides an “aha moment” tying all of the puzzling red signals together for the crew. Especially Burnham who, unknowingly throughout the season, put the red signals there from the future.
Now, I cannot wait for Star Trek: Discovery Season 3 to air on Thursday, October 15, 2020. Officer Burnham is in the far future insuring the Federation’s and humanity’s salvation. I know she has gone where no woman has gone before, but I am with her…we are with her!
