Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr And Snoop Dogg

Saturday night’s highly anticipated bout between Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. ended in an unofficial draw after the legendary boxers went the full eight rounds at Staples Center. Tyson was the runaway winner on the Twitter scorecards of boxing experts, but judges Chad Dawson, Christy Martin and Vinny Pazienza must have watched a different fight.

Tyson and Jones showered each other with compliments after the exhibition, and no one got hurt, which was a real concern before they met in the ring.

“I was afraid I might get hurt,” Tyson said. “I didn’t fight in 20 years. [Jones] only stopped fighting for three years. Why nobody care about my ass?”

Despite the unexpected draw call of the eight round fight, the real talk of the town was Jake Paul.

23-year-old Jake was in control the entire fight Saturday night — knocking Nate down once in the 1st round — and twice in the 2nd.

But, there was no getting up from knockdown #3 — Paul hit him with a nuclear bomb right on the button.

After the fight, Paul praised Nate during a post-fight interview with Jim Gray … “He was better than I expected … I wanted to say thank you to Nate.”

“It takes a lot of balls to step in the ring and I don’t want to take anything away from that.”

After the fight, Nate called out Conor McGregor — telling Jim Gray he wants to stay in boxing for a long, long time.

Paul is young, exciting to watch and becoming a real draw. He might stick around awhile.

The real star of the fight was Long Beach legend, Snoop Dogg.

It was Snoop Dogg that emerged as the event’s unanimous winner Saturday thanks to the rapper’s commentary during the fight.

Snoop Dogg — who previously teased his play-by-play abilities during a broadcasting booth cameo at a Los Angeles Kings game in January 2019 — was widely praised on social media for his entertaining contributions to an otherwise moribund fight that featured more clutching and hugging than actual punching between the over-50 heavyweights (you can watch a replay of the fight on FITE.TV).

“This shit like two of my uncles fighting at the barbecue,” the rapper quipped during one grapple. “‘Meet me in the backyard, I’m tired of this shit.’”
